Strengths:fast Engagemant, sick sound and great colour (blue) fastest rolling hub ive used
Weaknesses:Couldn't find any in the years ive ridden them
Similar Products Used:DT Onyx, shimano XT, Formular, ( ya i know but i couldn't afford any other hub back then)
Bike Setup:Trek fuel EX 8, XT groupset, Hadley's laced to Syncros
Bottom Line:Great Product, never had a problem, servicing was a breeze but does need to be done on a regular basis, if you have the cash buy these hubs

Purchased At:through brake therap
Strengths:seems strong, always engages
Weaknesses:i have just changed the bearings after probably 2 years of use in all conditions. have also been jet washing the bike (and hud) to rid it of welsh and french mud the bike so im probably to blame that the bearings were feeling a little notchy. thought i would get new ones. theres a good advice on sicklines on how to do this (thanks to the dude who wrote that its invaluable). main problem was using the park spa2 pin spannier on each end. as i have had the hub adapted for a floating rear brake you need pin spanner each end. pin sp anners are impossible to use if they are done up to tight. vice grips work far better if your not worried about a little scoring. probably the best tool ever invented. the bearings in the hub body are 2No. 6804's with a needle bearing and cartridge bearing in the freehub. got new bearings online fairly cheaply. will pack with finish line grease and see how the hub goes.
Similar Products Used:hope bulb, hope xc

Bottom Line:2 years in and ok so far. if im changing the bearings again soon the rating will drop. IT REAL ANNOYING HADLEY DOESNT HAVE A WWW (HADLEY PLEASE GET A WWW). While hopes arent the best hubs ever you can get all the info you ever need and more on their www.

Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:private sale
Strengths:Strong, engages quickly, comes in a 150mm format
Weaknesses:none yet
Similar Products Used:Formula 150mm rear
Bike Setup:IH 7point, Maz 66 SL1, X9 drive train, tuned SVP free swinger 6-way
Bottom Line:Great hub, and I have a great story: so I went out to the local skate park one night to ride the skinnies and the obstacle, take drops to flat and just play around on the concrete. What I hadn’t realized was that the through axle wasn't torqued in all the way, by some miracle the wheel didn't fall apart and the hub, although it was moving due to not being locked in, withstood about an hour of abuse. On my way home, I stopped at a light and realized that my rear derailleur had been making noise, looked down and realized the through axle was completely loose. I am certain that the only reason that the rear hub didn't buckle, leaving me badly injured or in the hospital, was the fact that the hub was so well built and able to withstand the impact and force of being thrown around for a substantial amount of time.

Strengths:Runs smooth, nearly instant Engament, loud, strong, light. Hub runs amazingly well, hasn't needed service yet. the Ano BLue looks awsome. Build quality is amazing. Best Hub I have run. 72 point engament

Strengths:Awesome hubs. Strong, smooth, and reliable. Priced descent as well, cool colors, axle options.
Weaknesses:None so far
Similar Products Used:Shimano, King
Bike Setup:Heckler and Diablo, both Hadley wheelsets, both tricked out
Bottom Line:These hubs are awesome. I have an XC wheelset on my Heckler and a DH wheelset on my Diablo, both UST and I could not be happier. I have a problem with a review below from Hamatha saying these hubs broke on you. In your review you claim that you have "broken all brands of hubs, more than once." Hmmm, I consider myself a pretty aggresive rider who loves jumping and doing big drops and I have never broken a single hub in over 20 years of riding. Maybe needed new bearings here and there but never "broke" a hub. Dude, you list yourself as a XC rider, how do you break any hubs riding XC?

Strengths:light, strong, fast engagement, increased my trials ability 10 times
Weaknesses:300 miles of commuting and urban assult and the bearings go bad? wtf
Similar Products Used:Shimano XT rear Disc hub, Shimano Deore Rear Disc hub, DT Swiss
Bike Setup:GIant STP Jeff Lenosky Edition, Sun Arctic Camo rims, this hub, Marzocchi front QR20 hub, RS Argyle 409 Punishmint fork, SRAM XO, Avid BB7. Truvativ Hollzfeller
Bottom Line:I was extremely impressed with this hub when i first got it. beautiful, light, fast engagment.... then i got caught int he rain, which will happen from time to time commuting.. caught in the rain for less then 4 minutes and the hub is never the same since. it feels like my rear brake is permanently engaged. I took teh hub apart.. and the bearings are gritty.. how crap got through the labyrinth of seals this hub has is beyond me. the hub is getting better with more ride time...

I emailed and tried to contact hadley on a multitude of occasions.. I have yet to receive a reply or an answer. Im going to the interbike this year.. hadley guys, Im buying a Chris King, they have great customer service.. you can have this hub back in September. lack of service is an F in my book.

Favorite Trail:National
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:Balleracing.com
Strengths:Engagement points(speed), looks, sound, strength
Weaknesses:Only price, but it is cheaper than a chris king hub
Similar Products Used:xt, deore, other shimano stuff
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz Heckler, 36 talas r, xo stuff, diabolus cranks, stem, and handlebar, juicy 7s, Hadley(rear) and Chris King hubs with mavic 823 and 819 rims
Bottom Line:I think this hub is great. Mine has the 10mm through axle and the 72 point engagement which I love. It is great for rock gardens where you have to ratchet your cranks to get through sections of tight trails. The pawls are not as loud as I hoped, but that just a personal preference thing. I have not had any issues with the hub whatsoever. I have it laced to a mavic 819 rim and it stays pretty true. I don't do anything super hard to it, because the most that I have done so far is 3 to 4 foot drops. National is pretty rough though, so I think I have put the hub through a pretty good test.

Bike Setup:1 - 2005 Santa Cruz VP-Free
2 - 2006 Cove Shocker
Bottom Line:I have Hadley hubs on both of my bikes (VP-Free and Shocker) and the hub (rear) on my VP-Free had to be rebuilt after one year of riding and the hub (also rear) on the Shocker needed a rebuild after less than 2 months.......needless to say, very dissappointing. I am definitely a freerider but I am not hitting huge stuff and only ride two times per week. I will not be getting Hadley hubs when I purchase my next wheelset.

Bottom Line:Improved pedalling as a result of the superb engagement, even the 32 Engagement on the 150mm Hub on the Free is far better than the Hope. Also a great clicking sound on the 32 ( loud ) and on the 72 ( soft click almost silent ). Everything about these hubs looks and says quality. well worth the wait and the cash.

Strengths:none
Weaknesses:what happened to this hub? i've used hadley for years problem free. it was the only problem free hub. now its only problems. big heads up for all you who have bought and loved this product. big stay away for you newbies.

i just broke my hadley for the second time in as many months.

this is not an adjustment or maintenance issue. i’ve used these hubs for many years.

hadley has been the most dependable hub. until recently its the only hub i haven’t broken. i’ve tried almost all major hub brands and have broken them, most more than once.

hadley is not a particularly beefy hub, but its always been competely reliable. until now. i asked the mechanic at my shop if they changed their design and found out he has sent back over 20 hadley hubs in the last 6 months. he will no longer build with hadely.

most have the same problem: some of the bearings in the sealed bearing set next to the freehub crack in half forcing the bearing apart. axle seizes and or bearing bits then destroy the internal drive mech.

also the pawls are disintegrating for no reason (except cheap metal).

hadley denies all of course. “never heard of the problem”.

whatever.

Strengths:Lighter than XT
Great looks
Reliable
Weaknesses:Somewhat pricey
Must be careful tightening the rear skewer or the bearings will bind a little.
Similar Products Used:Shimano XT
Shimano Deore
Hugi Onyx
Bike Setup:Titus Loco-Moto
Bottom Line:These were great hubs that served me well for more than two years. The one problem I had is that if I tightened the rear skewer aggressively, it would start to bind the bearings. This could be shown by spinning the rear wheel, which is something I always check when I'm doing a routine tune-up. I contacted Hope about it and they told me it was definitely not supposed to do that. Frankly, they were much more worried about it than I was. I just made sure I didn't tighten the rear skewer too much and I never had a problem. I could still get it reasonably tight and other than that it was a great hub set and worth the extra money.

Strengths:Easily serviceable. Adjustable width, 12mm axle, and super strong shell. Good positive forward engagement.
Weaknesses:I'm not happy with this hub. The freewheel gums up quickly and stops working. Internal bearings are located to far inboard and causes bearings to fail quickly. Seals are okay but should be much better for wet Northwest and Whistler riding. My king headset never has a problem. I have to rebuild this hub all the time. Driving me crazy.
