Submitted by BMXMTB a Weekend Warrior from Tempe, AZ
Date Reviewed: June 25, 2008
Favorite Trail:Chandler Skatepark
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:Kore Bike
Strengths:Smoooooth, very well sealed, very user serviceable, bombproof ringdrive, warranty, crazy loud, signature freehub sound.
Weaknesses:Crazy loud, signature freehub sound.

The Fun Bolts suck. If they would have used the same bolts as the BMX hubs, you could remove the bolts and drop the wheel down and out of horizontal dropouts without removing the rear brake every time you get a flat.

Kings own website says:

"The stainless steel driveshell is also recommended when using separate, INDIVIDUAL COG gear clusters."

but for some reason they decided to design the SS hubs (which obviously use INDIVIDUAL COGS) with aluminum driveshells?
Similar Products Used:BMX cassette hubs (Profile).
Bike Setup:FireEye Short Fuse 380 frame, Funn rigid 20mm fork, King SS 36h ISO rear disc hub, King Steelset, Moose Racing Chromoly dirtbike handlebars 30" wide, King 20mm 36h ISO front hub, Magura Gustav 210mm front brake, Shimano Saint 205mm rear brake, 4 crossed DT Alpine III spokes, Mavic 729 front and back, Azonic Love Seat, Thomson post, Profile cranks, Odyssey Jim C mag pedals, etc...
Bottom Line:Other than the above "brainfarts" (just my personal opinion) in the design, it is an awesome hub that should last you several lifetimes.
