Strengths:    awesome steering control !

Weaknesses:    no problems here!

Bottom Line:
I am often the first one to, "break trail" on my local riding area and this tire, along with the Lou in the back gives awesome steering control! not the lightest fat tire but I ride this bike in the snow for a fun workout, not speed. I don't know about dirt riding with this setup but on a trail with 6"-8" of fresh snow on an already existing base it worked great!

Are bud and lou still king?

I want to buy snow tires for my fatboy before the the snow hits this fall. I've yet to see anything that suggests I can do better than bud and lou. Does anyone disagree? The snowshoe XL seems like a reasonable contender but doesn't dethrone the lou. I already have GC's for summer so all-w ... Read More »

Surly Bud and Lou 4.8'' v. Vee Rubber H-Billie 26”x4.25” 120tpi tires?

I just purchased my first fat bike and couldn't be more excited! I bought the Minnesota 3.0 with the Rockshox Bluto fork. I am considering whether to keep the H-Billie 4.25 tires or to upgrade to the Surely Bud and Lou 4.8 inch tires. I live in NJ so we get a fair amount of snow in the winter, bu ... Read More »

Tire between the BFL and Lue/Bud in size?

I am looking for a tire with tread somewhere between a BFL and Luo in size - any suggestions? I have a 170 spaced Fatback frame, and am looking for a tire as big (or bigger!) as a BFL, but with actual tread. My frame fits a BFL with lots of space, but a Lou is just a tad too big, though it ... Read More »
