Strengths:    Good grip, light weight, low resistance

Weaknesses:    extremely fragile sidewalls. Cant run tubeless

Bottom Line:
This is probably a good tire if your run tubes but I can't handle the weight of tubes. Bought two of these, Non-Exo, ran them tubeless and both lasted 1.5 rides...Literally!!! sidewall tears on both. I have had great luck with the Specialized Renegade Controls.

Strengths:    Light, hooks up on moister terrain.

Weaknesses:    Expensive, fragile, wears fast.

Bottom Line:
I used this tire on the rear and was impressed at first. It's avery light tire and it hooked up and rode better than the 29x2.0 Fast Trak LTs that came on my Stumpy hardtail. The knobs were starting to wear pretty quickly. Then the sidewall blew out and I replaced it with a Kenda Slant Six. I like the Slant Six better in every way, it hooks up, brakes, and corners better in all conditions, and has a more supple ride as well. It also has stronger sidewalls and wears more slowly.

The Ikon is a tire for racers and weight weenies who don't mind spending a lot of money and replacing their tires often. If you're not one of them, you should look elsewhere, at a Slant Six for example.
