Strengths: A true UST XC specific race tire. Works great as a rear tire, but also have run it front and rear on my Salsa Dos Niner. The sturdy sidewalls allow you to go low with the psi and avoid any squirm. The Crossmark tread is a tried and true XC dry conditions favorite and lasts a long time.Weaknesses: Not a race weenie weight at over 800g per tire.Bottom Line: Great Midwest race tire - especially for the rear end of the bike. I've run them for nearly 2 years without any sealant (one has to dip the valves in sealant before tightening them down to the rim hole to create an airtight seal. Very impressive UST tire worth considering if one wants to go UST. The sturdy sidewall and knowledge that you've got a durable tire below you is worth the extra weight.

Bike Setup: Salsa Dos Niner front and rear with the Crossmark 2.1, Niner RIP 9 with the Crossmark 2.1 LUST in the rear and the Ardent 2.25 LUST up front. Mounted on Stans Flow rims, Crest rims and American Classic MTB 29"er disc rim converted to tubeless with yellow tape and valve. Works great on all of those rims.
