Favorite Trail:Stella Ridge
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:Stock on my bike
Strengths:Grip, Grip, Grip. Nice and fat. Easy to set up Ghetto Tubeless.
Weaknesses:Its been said before, rolling resistance and weight
Similar Products Used:IRC Mythos II 29er...lots of 26er tires
Bike Setup:Windsor Cliff 29er Pro with upgrades
Bottom Line:Ran them for five months with tubes, they worked very well at about 35psi. Converted them to Ghetto Tubeless and they are even better now. I run them at 25-28psi and they are glued to the trail. Plus, because of their large casing, they feel like they add an extra 1" of travel. My aluminum hardtail feels like a soft tail now. I have a OEM set of wire beads (still 60 tpi) which are a tad heavier than the folding bead ones, but I also feel more secure using wire beads with a tubeless setup.

I ride lots of singletrack with logs and roots, but no sharp rocks so hopefully the tread will hold up.

Favorite Trail:any santa cruz single track
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:it goes where you point it
Weaknesses:rolling resistance
Bike Setup:rigid ss 29er
Bottom Line:This is my new favorite front tire for slippery conditions. Mud, muck, sand, piles of leaves and needles, whatever. Its slower in the straights but it allows you to go so hard through the corners that it evens out. It has enough volume to smooth out the trail a little too. Sometimes its loud, you can here it biting the ground. 5 out of 5 overall for use as a front tire in gnarly conditions. 4 out of 5 value because I paid full price at the lbs.

Favorite Trail:Pats Track
Strengths:Great traction (2.35" version), they never want to break free
Weaknesses:Not best on road-but then it is a super wide(2.35" version) tire at low presure
Bike Setup:29er HardTail, Wide tires, 5" Fork-20mm thru axle, King Headset & Hubs, Stans Flow Rims, Stans Kit, SRAM X-0, Carbon Post & Bars, Disk Brakes
Bottom Line:This is the best (2.35" version) tire I have ever used, its got loads of traction and absorbs alot of shock.

Strengths:Grip. Can be run as tubeless.
Weaknesses:A bit finicky when setting up as tubeless. Where is a designated tubeless Nev!?!
Similar Products Used:TNTC
Bike Setup:A few.
Bottom Line:Great front tire for aggressive riding. I'm a bit worried about rolling it off the tubeless rim during hard cornering but so far this tire has held on well.

I think this tire in a 2.1" tubeless version would be the ideal front 29er trail tire. A 2.2 is probably more than most people need, or at least I'd rather have a 2.l with thicker sidewalls.

Give me a tubeless 2.1 with meaty sidewalls and I'll give it 5 flames.

Favorite Trail:In the woods.
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $25.00
Purchased At:Unicycle.com
Strengths:Lots of traction, beefy knobs, corners and climbs very well.
Weaknesses:None.
Similar Products Used:Exiwolf... more like Exilame compared to this tire.
Bottom Line:This tire is the dog's bollocks. I caught them on sale at Unicycle.com for 25 bucks each. You can throw the bike into corners and the big side lugs will bite into the soil like it ain't no thang. Not any worries of washing out unless you're really pushing it. This tire inspires confidence!

Favorite Trail:Trail 100
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $36.00
Purchased At:Jenson USA
Strengths:It is a Nevegal..so we know it grips and rips like no other...Tigga Please this is the ultimate MTB tire in rough conditions!
Weaknesses:It's a Nevegal so the usual..little slower on the flats and a few more grams...get over it
Similar Products Used:26" Nevegal 2.35
Bike Setup:Niner Sir 9, Fox F29, Industry 9...
Bottom Line:All the usual good and less of the bad you typically hear about this tire. I ride a lot of rocky and more technical singletrack so the tire gave me much more confidence on a single speed. They never even considered loosing traction while out of the saddle on steep climbs and they corner like you are in a slot car on a track. Yes, they are slower than the Kharma LR3 Pro, which I use on smooth and when I race, but I never worry or think twice about traction with these and that is important to someone 200+ trying to corner and climb in loose trail detritus! One last thought...the 29" wheels make these feel far less sluggish than the 2.35 Nevergo I had on my 26" trail bike.

Favorite Trail:Pudgy's, MA
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:The Path Bike Shop, Tustin CA
Strengths:Traction is amazing. Grips like mad. Beefy sidewalls. Large volume helps float over rogh stuff and enables lower pressures.
Weaknesses:Weight and togh to get rolloing at low speeds(but you knew that already). I was willing to live with that until I ripped three lugs clean off the rear tire on a particularly rocky ride, with an additional 2-3 lugs still hanging on by a few threads of rubber. The soft side lugs are definitely not meant for places with sharp-ish rocks, so beware.
Similar Products Used:Mythos, Fire XC, Mutano (26'er)
Bike Setup:Ventana El Rey
Bottom Line:these tires are awesome if you dig traction and are willing to live with the weight penalty. Just be careful when riding rocky terrain (smooth rocks/rock faces OK, sharp-edged rocks, no good...your side lugs will be toast in no time).

Strengths:Big, comfortable, tons of grip!!!
Weaknesses:Maybe alittle slow... but maybe I should get stronger!
Similar Products Used:Exi
Bike Setup:Rigid One9
Bottom Line:The Kenda's been a great, confidence inspiring front tire. Much better then the Exi I had been running before up front. It may not be a quick rolling tire, but the trade-off is some serious grip in the front, and I'll make that trade for a front tire on the One9. Have not run the tire in the rear however, so I cannot give any advivce on that front.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $45.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Excellent traction and cornering ability. This tire excels on loose terrain, whether climbing or descending. Very confidence inspiring. Also the large volume made my hard tail much more comfortable.
Weaknesses:Rolling resistance, the rear rubbed the front derailleur when climbing in the granny
Similar Products Used:WTB Motoraptor, Bontrager Jones XR
Bike Setup:06 fisher xcal mostly stock
Bottom Line:This was my first time on a 29er I was certainly impressed by these tires. They seemed to grip no matter what I was doing. However after a couple of months I felt bogged down for the type of fast xc riding I do. Since then switched to faster rolling tires. Still, every time the rear tire slips on a climb, or the front tire breaks free on a loose corner, I miss them.

Strengths:Aggressive looks,large volume,slow-wearing,traction.
Weaknesses:Rolling resistance.
Similar Products Used:29er IRC Notos, a bunch of 26" tires-mostly tubeless.
Bike Setup:Niner EMD9 hardtail,2x9 drivetrain, 100mm Reba SL.
Bottom Line:I bought these for my winter tires for traction, but have used them all year so far because of the added cushion due to the large air volume on my hardtail and the awesome traction in nearly all conditions. I run them at higher pressures (45-50 psi) than I usually do to decrease the drag and they have performed flawlessly. The only drawback so far at high pressure is some skidding on highspeed hardpack, which I expected. They have worked well in snow, mud, sand, rocks and most hardpack.

Strengths:Grip.
Weaknesses:Rotational weight, rolling resistance.
Similar Products Used:WTB Exiwolf 2.3
Bike Setup:Raleigh XXIX.
Bottom Line:They slowed me down so much that I removed them after one ride. They take too much effort to get up to speed, and the increased rolling resistance is noticable. They seem like an excellent tire for hooking up on challenging conditions, but they're too sluggish to be practical. But maybe a tire should be compared against it's intended purpose, so I don't want to slam them too hard. They may be the perfect for certain riders in certain conditions.

Favorite Trail:Reasonover Creek - Dupont
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $32.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Grip, grip and more grip. Did I mention that these tires grip. Huge air volume. Running 30-32 psi is no problem, could probably go lower but I'm a clyde so I won't try.
Weaknesses:Big, might rub chainstays on some frames. Bigger than the Rampage 2.35
Similar Products Used:Panaracer Rampage, Bontrager Jones XR, Bontrager Jones ACX, WTB Exiwolf
Bike Setup:Niner SIR 9 SS with 34:19 gear
Bottom Line:These tire are the real deal for all out traction. I find it very difficult get these tires to break free unless of course you use your brakes. The feeling of throwing the bike into a corner and knowing that it is going to stick is impressive. They don't roll fast like the others said, but I'll take traction over rolling resistance anyday.

Favorite Trail:Middle Ridge, Coe
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $45.00
Purchased At:Passion Trail Bikes (get there!!! place kicks ass)
Strengths:Grip, float, precise line holding
Weaknesses:slow rolling on hard surfaces
Similar Products Used:Rampage, Fastrack, Little Albert, Resolution
Bike Setup:Soulcraft Holy Roller, geared, Reba
Bottom Line:Awesome, confidence inspiring tire. The float is awesome, line selection is much less critical with this bad boy on the front. Point and shoot...all this, on a hardtail.

Very comforting to look down and see this meaty beast on the front wheel. Love it...but see weeknesses above. This, combined with a Resolution out back, is the first time I've felt the supposed "slow acceleration" of 29er lore.

Strengths:Beefy, big knobs, nice sticky rubber, good case. Incredible grip and traction.
Weaknesses:Hardly any so far. A little slower on hard surfaces..that's about it.
Similar Products Used:Everything available.
Bike Setup:Niner SIR 9 and One Niner.
Bottom Line:This tire is the mutts nuts. It has grip in spades, especially when cranked hard into the bends. It hangs on really well, those big side knobs haul you through the corners like a tractor.

Fantastic traction in 99% of trail conditions.

If this tire has a weakness it is only in the fact that it is a bit slower rolling on hard surfaces than some others, but that is a very small price to pay for the grip it gives.

I've tried this tire under all types of conditions except snow, and it has been exceptionally reliable and very very good. The casing is tough yet supple, it gives a nice smooth ride and abrasions from rocks don't seem to worry it.

Overall, this is my favourite 29'er tire right now.

Bottom line?

If you want incredible grip and fantastic traction, buy them.
