Strengths:    great fast rolling, light tire.

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
Bontrager has really improved their tires. This 29-1 really corners well and rolls fast. Perfect for xc racing. I haven't had it in mud, but that's not their intended use any way. I used the 2.1 in the rear. I want to try the 2.2 up front next. I'll report back.

Strengths:    Great tread pattern for hard tacky trails, which is what I ride mostly. Sidewall seems to be pretty strong as I have ridden some pretty rocky trails and have had no problems.

Weaknesses:    None so far.
If you are riding soft or even muddy trails you probably won't like this tire.

Bottom Line:
These tires came as an original part on a 2012 Trek Superfly 100 AL Pro. My experience with original Tires, Grips and Saddles is that they are usually skimped on. These tires have been very durable both in tread-wear and strong sidewalls.
I ride hard tacky trails and these are perfect.

Bontrager 29-2 Team Issue

I just purchased a 2011 Trek HiFi Deluxe 29er that came with these tires and yes it is weird to say Trek HiFi, because I also had a Fisher HiFi. Anyway I am not real thrilled with the rear tire, because it is pretty narrow and doesn't seem to grip to well. I was wondering if anyone else is runnin ... Read More »

bontrager 29.3 team issue tire

Highly recommend as a front tire here in southeast Tenn . Hooks up great in muddy conditions . The worst the trail is the better it hooks up . also works great in the rocks and roots . Just bought one to try on the rear . rolling resistance seems low for the size and knobs on the tire . garyfisher ... Read More »
