Strengths: Simplicity and value.Weaknesses: No lockout, and only 2 presets.Bottom Line: The bottom line is that I got this shock for a great price. Its simple to use and set up. Having only 2 presets is okay for me cause I prefer to KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. I use one setting for climbing with no bob at all. And I use the other setting for the down hill sections of the trail. I have taken this shock over some 2-3 foot drops and bashed over many rock gardens. It can sustain some mild abuse, I am a heavier rider weighing 240lbs and this is enough shock for me. I would not recommend this shock for a dh setup, its more of an all mountain xc type shock. This shock is virtually maintenance free. Like a previous reviewer said. Set it and forget it. Its to bad that bikewagon is all sold out of these shocks.

Strengths: Simplicity. EASY EASY to set up. Most important - SAG markings on the shock!!!!!!! No lockout needed. feels great on the trail and on the road. Zero pedal bob compared to other shocks.Weaknesses: Little to NO adjustability. No lockout.Bottom Line: i was looking for a replacement shock for the stock shock that came on the bike (the manitou s type srl) which was awful + kept leaking air at an alarming rate. I wanted to order the Monarch 3.1 or 3.3, but i guess i was misheard on the phone while ordering. If i didn't live in Israel, i would return the product, and get the 3.1 or 3.3 - but i wanted to ride already.... i am VERY happy with this shock. Great value for the money, and although at first i was upset about the lack of settings, im really really happy with this. the sag markings on the shock...why didn't any other company think to put this on there shocks???????? This shock is ready to go, i never have to fiddle with it, im certainly not sorry i didn't pay more for a 'more adjustable' shock. set this thing once, and forget about it. gives a VERY smooth ride whether on the trail or on the street. keeping it simple is sometimes like breath of fresh air.
