Strengths: really plush really smoothWeaknesses: it'll last for about a month beore you have problems like bolts coming undone on the interier and compression without releaseBottom Line: this isn't quite the shock i brought, i brought the next years shock with a piggy back when i first put it on it was plush beatifully riding then i started taking it off 10 ft drop (yes not huge for shocks "capiblity") and it pretti much fell apart it start by the rebound went and was going off everything on a two wheeled pogo stick then the bolt that keeps the dampiner together came undone! when i put it all back together i still had furthur problems the shock went like rusty nails to a chalk board and refused to come back out after a hour with griping tools ruining the spring bolt and a vice to hold it on i finally got the spring to relax again. NEVER BUY ROCK SHOX REAR SHOCK you'll regret it FR/Dh er's out there

Strengths: Err....strengths?Weaknesses: Bouncy, leaks after 1 month, looks cheap.Bottom Line: Even cheap RST crap has lasted longer than this, have just ordered a Fox Vanilla which I hope will last longer.
I guess the bottom line is Rock Shox should stick to making forks, and they aint too good at that either.
Wont be making the mistake of buying their stuff again.

Strengths: durability, adjustable rebound, low priceWeaknesses: no way to tell where in the adjustment range you have it set atBottom Line: A decent shock for the price.(mine came on my bike, which I bought on New year's day 2002) I've been riding with it for almost 15 months without any major complaints. I CAN tell where I have the rebound adjusted, by seeing how many threads are still out.(this is the 2001/2002 model, so it may not apply to the '03 models) By shutting off the rebound, you can "lock-out" the shock,(like the Marzocchi ECC) as long as your bike provides easy access to the shock. I use this bike for freeride, DH, dirtjumping, and urban riding, so the shock gets its fair share of abuse, and just keeps working as good as it did over a year ago. If you want a good, solid shock that won't give out on you, get one of these.
I gave it 5 chili's because I can't say anything bad against in over a year of riding.
