Bottom Line:
This shock came stock on my Manitou FS Frameset. The frame fork and shock i got for $600 brand new so i cant complain to much. I dont know if it the shock or the bushings are tight but the rear end does not seem as responsive as the front. Turning the rebound knob doesn't seem to do anything.
I think the shock would be smoother if the bike had sealed cartridge bearings.

Strengths:    Looks nice.

Weaknesses:    Weak seals.

Bottom Line:
Don't get this shock cause it's not reliable enough. For the kind of money you're forking out, you should at least expect it to last for quite some time. However, first time I got it, the seals blew within 2 weeks. After sending it back for repairs, I eagerly put it back on and it blew again in 2 DAYS!!! And I wasn't even riding in muddy conditions or anything close to downhill stuff! I've switched back to FOX. It's cheaper and more reliable.

Strengths:
Rebound and compression adjustibility good

Weaknesses:
Needs a lot of pressure to opperate correctly, 165 pounds.

Bottom Line:
Within the first 3 mo I had to send it back to Answer for repair, Squeeked and lost alot of air, bottomed out off curbs. They treated me great and had my shock back in 2 weeks. I am 160 pouds and highly recomend that anyone in this weight bracket get the heavy duty spring kit. Call answer and they will replace yours at no charge if its new. I still need to replace lost air, but no oil leeks.....

Strengths:
Rigidity

Weaknesses:
Poor quality control

Bottom Line:
A VERY GOOD PRODUCT IF YOU SERVICE IT EVERY 3 HOURS OF USE. MANITOU SHOULD CONTROL THE PRODUCTS GOING OUT WITH MORE ACCURACY. MINE HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS IN MY FIRST TWO RACES
