Plush, light, easy to rebuild, replacement seals are easily gained, good xc shock.

Real easy to rebuild and YouTube has decent run throughs on how to. Plenty of adjustability. Mine was a 165mm x 38 which was for an xc spec frame and probably why an unusually big hit didn't suit it. just a matter of new seals. No more than a 15 min job. Generally its been a nice shock.

propedal works as advertised, limits "bob". Holds air pressure.

As far as performance the shox is great. Adjust the sag and rebound and you are good to go. No bottoming out or topping out clanking. The shox has blown seals twice now. Once only 8 mo. old (under warranty) and now at 2 1/2 years old. Both times oil spews around the lockout/propedal/open setting lever. Fox turnaround is 3 or 4 weeks, not good in the middle of the only dry season of riding we get in Wa. state. Different bike shops that this problem is fairly rare, but that doesn't help me at this point.

Pro-Pedal setting is awesome, I've pretty much just set it, and forgot it :-) The lockout function is ok for riding down the street, but it's not a commuter bike so I rarely use the lock out.

as a big guy (6'7" 230lbs) I used the online chart for adjust sag and found i needed a lot more air, so at first it was too squishy, but at 280psi it's been fine. Whether having that much pressure affects the lifetime will be something I'll have to wait and see on, but for now, it's been great.

I haven't used more than 3 or 4 different rear shocks so I'm no expert, all I can say is that the shock adjusts really well, functions like you'd expect and has held up in some pretty diverse situations.
