Strengths: Super easy to use! Plush travel. The compression and rebound knobs have 13 clicks, which makes it easy to adjust on the fly. For 13 clicks, it has signifigant effect on the shock.Weaknesses: Changing the coil is a pain. Unless you have a punch and a press, take it to a shop or you will destroy your bushings.
Dont turn the coil more than twice (Per FOX) or you will add undo stress on the collar and change your compression and rebound settings.Bottom Line: My shock is a 2005 and it is bombproof. It is coil technology so no messing with air or pumps. I put one on my wifes bike too. It is great for DH, and free riding. Getting the right coil is easy, just call FOX and they can tell you what size coil based on your weight and riding style.
