Strengths: Well tuned platform, preload is ajustable by spring rate.
I have never bottomed shock under load. Can be repaired at factory
Weaknesses: Did not have issues even at hard ways. Rider's weight is given on factory. Can be repaired at factoryBottom Line: The Extralite F1 frameset copyes an old Specialized and has 3" rear suspension. Thank to the SP shock the bobing is zero and I feel a plush ride the same time. Spring tunes a ride by rotation on shock's body.
The one bad side is a high pressure inside this shock. Usual shock pumps are useless practically.
