Strengths: Light. Responsive. Simple.Weaknesses: None.Bottom Line: If you are currently running a suspension fork and considering rigid, do it. I was planning on switching back and forth between suspension and rigid more often than I do, but I just keep the rigid fork on there most of the time. I find the bike handles great, climbs amazingly, and descends much better than you would think. It pushes you to find lines, and stay active on the bike. The fork is more forgiving than you would expect. I have done a 12 hour race in Snowmass and used this fork, and found it to be super comfortable. If/when you switch from this fork back to front suspension, your are a better descender and will push your bike even harder. Or, just keep it simple, use this fork. You'll be happy with it.

Strengths: quite light for a steel fork, available in 470 and 490 lengths, forward facing dropouts, beautiful welds, stiff without being harsh, springy without being spongyWeaknesses: noneBottom Line: this fork is great, would have been completely worth the full price. i got it for much less and am even happier. i was unhappy with the geometry of my bike with a 470 fork and decided i was gonna go for a shock fork, but i found the niner fork on ebay and picked it up for under $70 with shipping. glad i stuck with rigid. it suits my riding more.

Strengths: Great finish, clean look, durable, reliable. Can take far more abuse than any carbon fork.Weaknesses: Perhaps a little high for some frames? Heavier than carbon forks.Bottom Line: This fork matches any Niner hardtail wery well, specially the steel ones. It will make your bike feel like one solid unit! It flex nicely when braking, which adds a sense of control and softness, whitohut the spaghetti-feeling. It wont take long before you will ride with confidence with this fork. The seering is wery precise, which makes riding and selecting a proper line more active. The weight is reasonable for a steel fork, and i wouldn't switch it for carbon.

Strengths: A good-looking and well-finished fork, colour-matched to the Niner frame. Cable guides on leg.Weaknesses: Weight.Bottom Line: NinerBikes make this fork mainly for their frames, but it is also available to anyone wanting to ride a rigid front end on their bike.
The finish is very good, and the overall look of the fork is great.
The weight is ok for a Reynolds steel fork, and is comparable to other steel forks on the market.
The feel is pretty good, the fork legs flex under input from the trail and under braking, the steel having a nice'spring' to it.
This fork works very well with the Reynolds steel framed SIR 9. They compliment each other nicely, the 'spring' of the frame and fork match exactly, giving the rider a very sweet and 'softish' rigid ride.
This fork doesn't absorb quite as much trail chatter as a carbon fork, but it is much stronger and far less likely to sustain damage from crashes. In other words, it can take a beating ... and still work.
My only gripe is the height of this fork. I would have preferred to see it in a shorter length, but that's just me...i'm "vertically challenged".. :)
Apart from that, there isn't much wrong with this fork. It's tough, well made, and it's Reynolds steel, which is very good steel.
Fit and finish is right up there, and the 'feel' is nice and solid.
The bottom line?
A well-made and presented fork in Reynolds steel. Colour-matches the Niner Bikes frame. Good 'feel' on trail. Nice 'spring' to it.

Strengths: Price
Matches Niner frames
SteelWeaknesses: WeightBottom Line: Nice bombproof fork at a low price. Well designed and looks good. ~1050g is average for cromo. It is compliant for what it is, and more than you'd expect. If I were super worried about carbon as a fork material, I'd buy this for my Niner.
