Strengths: decent weight, PRICE, platform, rebound, plushness, overall ride-abilty, customer serviceWeaknesses: heavier than a reba or a foxBottom Line: This fork is just as good as anything that Fox or RockShox, etc is putting out. I've been riding it for 6 months and love it. Got it for $300 new on ebay which is HALF the price of a RS or Fox. the only penalty is a few more ounces. The fork weighed 3.6 lbs on my scale i think.
I've been riding for 15 years so i know what a good fork is. the Minute is plush, it works through the travel well, very tunable, nice linear feel and no flex that i can tell. (i had an R7 that was very flexy). its also predictable. I like the platform ABS + system. i ride it open mostly or turn it 1/2-3/4 closed for long climbs. and of course lock it out on the road.
The sad part is that manitou make s great product and has excellent customer service and they do like ZERO advertisign so most folks don't give them any credit. the forks are easy to work on too.
I have the 100 mm version.
