Strengths:    Adjustable travel that doesn't affect geometry. It made my bike handle better going downhill.

Weaknesses:    None. I don't expect an all mountain/XC fork to perform the same as a DH or enduro fork. It does it's job and it does it well.

Bottom Line:
I was thinking of buying a suntour xcr or epicon but this was on sale. I bought the 130mm travel fork at an LBS for roughly 90 dollars for the 2011 model. It's 2013 now and I guess they just wanna get rid of all the old stock, good bargains to be had. If that ain't a good buy I don't know what is. And about the guy above this review that says there's no lockout look at the adjustment knob and you should see a lock icon. Twist it towards the icon until it locks up. There it is now fully lock. Twist the other way and the travel becomes softer. Stop twisting it when you get the ride quality you prefer. Easy adjustment right? No additional knobs or levers for the lockout, cleaner looking cockpit. Who needs a remote lockout fork if you aren't competing in any race? Just get off your bicycle and adjust it..simple :) .

Strengths:    It is a really good ajustible shock you can find easier online and shops. They are sold out as much as the Rock Shox recon. Its a really good race fork for a really good price.

Weaknesses:    There isn't a lock out i dont think but what the heck im a good hill climber so i wont mater.

Bottom Line:

Manitou Match Comp or something else?

Manitou Match Comp for $215 at price point. My bike is older so no disk brake mounts and needs an 80mm fork. What else is comparable? Any better deals? The Rockshox XC32 tk or Recon Silver are cheaper, but I think they might not be as nice. I don't have to buy a new fork because I have a Kona ... Read More »
