Strengths:    Stiff, easy to adjust

Weaknesses:    maintenance/duty cycle

Bottom Line:
Came w/ a 2011 hifi pro. I did not maintain it and it lasted 2 summers without performing the recommended maintenance/fluid changes every 30 hours. Loved the performance though - especially compared to my 2003 SID WC. Performance wise, I don't think I've used a finer fork, nor could I ask more out of it. In terms of living with it though, the maintenance cycle definitely leaves one wanting. I would recommend against purchasing ANY fork used with unknown hours on it- the costs can be between $3 and $400 to fix (for the fox in particular).

Strengths:    They're nice to ride, though they are the best I've ridden so hard to compare.

Weaknesses:    The seals needed replacing after six month and I only do an average of less than 3 hours a week. Not happy.

The air chamber gradually fills with oil since I first got them. I sent them back but it's still happening. In future I'm going to go Rock Shox or even Marzocchi, because at least they build their forks with sensible tolerances (I suspect that in the pursuit of less stiction fox make their tolerances too slack. Hence the failing seals and leaking of oil.)

Bottom Line:
Don't buy fox.

Strengths:    smooth, easy set-up

Weaknesses:    creaky crown

Bottom Line:
The fork is great when no creaking. There apparently is a looseness in the crown that caused the creak. The customer service has been top notch.

2011 fox 32 float RL 150mm

I just bought a bike with a fox 32 float RL 150mm fork. I like to make sure there is oil in it. I am planing on just removing the nuts on the bottom of the fork, draining the oil, hopfully there will be some, and refilling with M1-5W-30 in each leg. I'll replace the seals another time, I just wan ... Read More »

First service for Fox 32 Float 100 RL - weird oil color?

I recently bought new 2012 Fox RL fork and it was a huge upgrade to my old fork. We had a really long dry period and all the tracks turned into really fine red dust which was going everywhere. Only after 15 hours of riding with brand new fork it didn't feel as good as it used to so instead of recomm ... Read More »

Fox 32 Float 26 100mm FIT CTD or RL?

I've been reading on Fox forks on this forum and seen that there have been some issues with certain models and this has made me a bit hesitant to buy one. However.. My old cheap Suntour fork just broke and I need to replace it urgently. After some local research and due to budget and availability I ... Read More »

Fox 32 Float RL Dropouts Too Wide For Hubs

I picked up a leftover 2011 Trek Remedy 7 demo last year and overall have loved the bike. Noticed from the start that there was a bit of stiction in the front fork (Fox 32 Float RL 150mm w/ 15mm axle) - figured it hadn't been serviced in a while and it seemed to move smoothly through its travel. I ... Read More »
