Strengths:    Solid, hardworking, neat and tidy, good shock for hardtails

Weaknesses:    touch heavy for off road

Bottom Line:
I would expect this shock be a bit heavy and 'slow' for dual shock, but for hardtails, it is an excellent road shock. The heavier materials used translate into an action that is ideal for absorbing the shock a hardtail frame returns from the back wheel. I have found it very comfortable with 2-3 hours a day of road use. A little brake dive under 'heavy' braking. For off road I would use something a little lighter, with more travel.

Strengths:    Solid construction with smooth operation, and a preload which actually works.

Weaknesses:    Heavy but sturdy...

Bottom Line:
A great suspension fork for the money, with smooth operation and well built construction.
Time to say goodbye to Suntours...

Strengths:    Very strong fork, the rebound setting and lockout both work very well, basically the fork feels great if you don't have any problem with a little extra weight and a little squeaking. Also, I have mine on a 29er, so it may have a few differences from the 26.

Weaknesses:    Squeaky, Heavy

Bottom Line:
If you're a weight snob, don't get it. If you want a tough fork that will take all the beating you can give it and still work great, then it's the fork for you. I love it on my 29er.

Strengths:    Came on the bike.
Fits a 29er wheel.
Feels solid.
Absorbs bumps well.
Rebound adjustment works.

Weaknesses:    Heavy
Squeaky
Lockout is incomplete

Bottom Line:
Came on the bike and works fine. Very squeaky, especially with rebound. Lockout feature is not complete like on my Fox Fork. There is still about 15-20mm of bob when I'm out of the saddle.

Absorbs bumps well and feels sturdy. I'm 200 lbs and run 185lb of pressure. Good over variable terrain. No stability issues for me.

I probably wouldn't buy this if I were building the frame up from parts, but seeing as it came on the bike, I'll upgrade other parts before the fork. It's not outstanding but seems to do the job just fine.

Strengths:    Great Look.. Great Feel.. Good travel.. Great price.. Coil spring.. Strong Lock out..

Weaknesses:    Haven't found any yet.. a little heavy but I don't care as long as that translates into strength..

Bottom Line:
I don't think there is a better shox out there for $200. Go with the coil set up because I haven't heard many people having issues with that. People say its an ok entry level air fork.. I would say its a great coil fork sooo go that route.. I weigh 178 pounds and this thing works great for me..

Strengths:    Good price. The lock out works really well.

Weaknesses:    Doesn't compress that well. Squeaks a lot. Very Heavy.

Bottom Line:
Ok for the price but it would be worth spending the extra money to get a better lighter fork!

Strengths:    Looks pretty nice and it comes with a quality shock pump.

Weaknesses:    I experienced stanction play, fork dive, loss of air pressure and a twist to the left when braking.

Bottom Line:
Hold on there buddy! I don't mean to be harsh, but this is not Rockshox best work. I am a regular rider of all kinds of trails in Colorado and weigh about 190 lbs. After 3 reliable years on my mid line GT I-Drive 4.0, I popped for a few upgrades. New Tora SL fork, Juicy 7 brakes and Shimano wheels. While the other upgrades seem nice, the fork has been a complete disappointment. In fact, I'm scared of it! It twists left when braking and dives down an inch instantly when brakes are applied. If that isn't bad enuf, there's a lot of play in the stancions. YIKES Scooby! How unnerving is that?!?! We double checked the recommended air pressure a number of times, made necessary adjustments and no changes in the performance.
I've returned it to my favorite bike shop and they are working with Rockshox to exchange it for a better performing fork.

It may work well for a casual rider with v-brakes or a much lighter rider.

Lessons learned - Always buy from a seller/store you can trust and do your homework first.

Strengths:    Lockout feature,Coil Shock,Preload good.

Weaknesses:    Squeeky dampening seems sloopy

Bottom Line:
I keep wondering when these forks are going to blow out! Took back to bike shop they will examin it there. I did call SRAM ROCKSHOX said this is not a typical problem of these shocks to have bike shop investigate them. Perhaps my bottom line will be more positive after I recieve my bike . Still not pleased with overall handeling hope its psychological due to the never ending squeeking;however it tends to be sloopy dampening.

Strengths:    Good travel, dampening and rebound. Lockout is also effective. Looks cool as well.

Weaknesses:    Rebound, like 08 Tora's does very little. None other yet.

Bottom Line:
Very nice low level air fork. Travel is good (I have achieved 90mm so far), Lockout is effective for climbs and it's strong (I have bashed it around a bit). Rebound adjust, like 2008 model Tora's doesn't make a lot of difference, but still holds some bearing. All in all, a good Entry level XC air fork!

(Probably a coil version, I havent used it yet.)
