Strengths:    i would say the strengths of this fork are durability and adjust-ability. whether a weekend warrior, hardcore dirtjumper, or cross country enthusiast, the fork will perform greatly.

Weaknesses:    the thru-axle... i have been having a big problem. it keeps seizing up and will not un-thread from the fork. i've greased it, made sure the lever is completely loosened, but to no avail. some feedback would be awesome!

Bottom Line:
this is an amazing fork, but just wondering if anyone had problems with the thru-axle, and if they could provide some ideas on what should be done

Strengths:    20mm axle, adjustability.

Weaknesses:    one of the positve or negative seals.....it eventually breaks down, service required

Bottom Line:
bought from e-bay, after some rides it developed a clicking ( something that i did read about befor the purchace, was a problom with the fork ) sent it for service spliting the bill with the seller, very nice guy....
was confuseing at first on how to set the positve to negitive chambers to get a nice balance..the chart on the fork wasnt makeing the fork feel good for my weight, went on my own and just kept playing with the presures till i found a combo i really liked.........
thats when i feel in love, the chambers are really sensitive to change in presure so a little goes a long way, 5 to 10 pound will make a difference in performance, the difference in the 20mm to a regular axle is mind blowwing, the feel is so rigid it took me a couple of rides to adapt to the change, because my San Andreas was made for a short travel fork it was nice to have the adjustability to keep the head angle in check, even at short travel the pike performed nicely, the weight of the fork might spook some away from buying one but i think the performance outweights that by a mile.......other than the screwy seal it has been fun...the fork now rides a new Titus FTM, :)

Strengths:    This fork is really stiff. Great for all mountain but does bottom out around the 3 foot mark so that's about right.

Weaknesses:    haven't found any yet but I'm not pushing the fork past all mountain either

Bottom Line:
great all mountain fork

Strengths:    plushness, strength, price, looks

Weaknesses:    price

Bottom Line:
This review is for the Pike 454 COIL U-Turn. I weigh 185 and the spring that came with it works very well for me. When I sit on the bike it sags 22mm. When I stand it sags 35mm. When I jump/drop 3+ feet it bottoms out so I might consider dropping in the firm spring down the road. I can point my bike at a curb, pedal through it and if my eyes were closed I wouldn't even know that I just went over a curb. This fork looks mean. It has stiffened up the steering, and inspired confidence in my riding. But seriously, as with all bike parts, they are just too expensive.
