Favorite Trail:Candler's
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $275.00
Strengths:Linear, plush, so light, stiff and tracks amazing
Weaknesses:None so far. A QR 20mm axle might be nice (w/ added weight though)
Similar Products Used:2006 & 2007 Minutes, 2007 R7, 2007 Marz XC600, 2007 Marz MX Pro, 2007 RS Sid, 2008 RS Recon
Bike Setup:Fetish Cyc. Fixation 17/32 single speed, race face cranks, FSA, etc.
Bottom Line:Review for 120mm Hex-bolt version:
EXCELLENT excellent fork. IMO Hayes takeover a few years back has brought life and quality control back into this brand. I've basically run every brand of fork in this class and I LOVE the feel and plushness of this fork. Riding mostly aggressive xc, the reverse-arch is so stiff and it tracks excellent. Climbs nicely given its travel and the dampener rocks compared to similar Marz. and RS models I've recently tested. Manitou has gotten rid of the "ticking" noise in the '08 dampeners (if you have an '08, they'll send you a free fix-it-kit though). Definitely the most linear air fork I've ever had - the little coil assist helps as well. Time will tell on its reliability, but every other Minute I've owned from post-Hayes takeover has certainly stood the test. Absolutely best fork I've owned for the money.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $410.00
Purchased At:Ebay
Strengths:Remarkably Lightweight, Stiffness/Weight ratio is huge, Simple set up. Absolute damper doesn't have too many usable 'clicks' so you don't have to stop riding to change the ride. Looks great too.
Weaknesses:Hex-lock Axle system with bolts to tighten is a backward step. The 2006 Travis 150's had a QR set up very similar to the current Fox 36 series....why did this system get ignored for 2008-09 Minutes? They are a trail fork after all and it makes trail-side puncture repair a little more time consuming.
Similar Products Used:Fox F120R, Manitou Travis 150, Fox Vanilla.
Bike Setup:2008 Giant Trance X2 with Imperial wheelset, Shimano SLX brakes, LX drivetrain.
Bottom Line:My pair of Minutes is the 20mm Hex-lock, 140mm travel model and they have been brilliant since I bought them. Probably haven't been able to do enough riding on them yet to say they are completely run in but so far their operation has been very good. Absolute damper had a reputable clicking noise while riding once or twice but haven't heard it in a while which is great.

The Super Absolute is a great way to lighten the front end of your bike while maintaining stiffness. Suits larger riders who cannot afford to have a flexy fork but need to shed weight from their bike. If only it had a QR 20mm axle system as I feel that is the main let down for this fork.

All in all, competitive fork and I am yet to uncover any problems with it's function or build which is the main concern with Manitou suspension items.
