This is a good shock for the money. I broke my old shock on the trail at Gooseberry Mesa, and this was a reasonable replacement that they had at Over the Edge in Hurricane, UT...it was even on sale and they put it on for no extra charge, and got me back on the trail within a couple of hours. I had not heard of Magura, but I'm impressed so far - it handles most trail types well - rode on rocky decents, fast downhills, and slickrock on it without any problems.
