Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:Thailand
Strengths:This is a "small" Talas on steroid when it comes to rigidity and stability. Perfect for freeride and all mountain rig with minimal weight penalty.
Weaknesses:Might not feel so plush and you might have to fix this problem.
Similar Products Used:Other Fox forks, Manitou Travis, etc
Bike Setup:Session77
Bottom Line:Fist ride was not so impressive because this fork felt sticky and was far from being plush. But keep riding until the seals break in and the ride is getting sweeter bit by bit.

A number of posts report minimum (or lack of) lubricant oil in the fork legs. I checked mine and it seemed that the oil in both damping and Talas chambers was indeed on a "low" side (less than 10cc of oil coming out from each chamber).

So I added 25cc of 5wt lube on top of the damping chamber and 15cc on the bottom of the Talas chamber. I also pried open the stanchion seals and added some "super slick" lube in the sponge chambers, and it feels even better--close to the plushness of a coil fork.

Once the stickiness issues is sorted out, the fork performs great. The 20mm axial, 36mm stanchions, and a 1.5" steerer combo encourage you to do anything you-wish-you-could-but-are-afraid-of in the past.
