Bottom Line:
I would give this fork a very good rating if based solely on the ride and settings available. It takes a while to set up, but once you've got it dialed, it's amazing. However, after a little crash the steerer tube is bent and cannot be straightened. The importer to South Africa no longer exists and Marzocchi is dragging it's feet in getting back to me. I base a products value to a large extent on the after sales service I get from the manufacturer. Based on that, I cannot give it a good rating. Do I have to throw this fork away because of poor after sales service?

Alot! Excellent damping, wide range of adjustments, feels as good or maybe even better than a coil fork, adjustable travel for when you want to do 4x or dj.
rc3 uses a speed sensitive compresion valvev and rebound valve so it's verry plush when going slower on very small bumps but stiffens up slightly so it dosn't use a load of travel and bottem out.
Loads of adjustments, no flex what so ever, new arch looks amazing and the nickel coated stanchion tubes help it feel like butter.
Weaknesses:
Well, i have only owned the product for 2 days so it hasn't broken in at all yet. the vol adjustment and the compression adjustment do not really do anything drastic on my fork yet. I think it is becasue of the oi hasn't fully pumped around the curcuits.

Bottom Line:
An amasing fork. It's fairly light for a 38 mm fork with 200 mils of travel. Early forks of this kind may have some type of "bushing play" however, these forks just feel really progresive and plush when you need them to be and not so when your doing high drops which is awesome and their getting eaven better when i ride!
i'm glad i own it, i havn't even properly adjusted it and it works wonders!
This fork it realy for downhillers and heavyweight freeriders, however, you could use them for other aplications due to the fact that it has a 40 mm travel adjustment alough i wouldn't recomend it.
Your in for a real treat.

Strengths:
Fairly lightweight for a 38mm, dual crown. For an air sprung fork, feels more like a coil sping than I first imagined. Fantastic sensitivity, super on the big knarly stuff.
Weaknesses:
So many dials/knobs and settings... Yeah of course, we all love a fork with loads of pretty shiny things to turn and adjust, but when you've just whizzed down your fav. trial, realised the fork needs a little more fine tuning, you get back up to the top, reach for the first knob, and your first thought is, 'wait, but maybe I should turn that one instead, or both? or neither?... mmmm, ah I'll just go for my original choice... wait, what does Volume Adjust do anyway?....' ... There is A LOT of potential adjustment on this fork, on the upside yes, you can dial it in just perfect, on the downside, sometimes you just wanna ride instead of wondering which combination of knobs to turn and in what direction, and if you should change the air pressure in the PAR chamber, or in the ATA chamber... The thing is, all these areas of adjustment aren't explained well AT ALL in the 2008 manual, brief explainations yes, but for a fork so detailed in its adjustment, better understanding is definitely needed by the rider, and marzocchi need to bring thier tech info up to the standard of the component. In particular, VA and PAR need to be explained a little better, and how there adjustments might effect the compression & rebound strokes.

When you get the hang of the adjustment, get it tuned in to your riding style, your in for a real treat. I had never riden an air sprung product before this, and in my opinion, the 888 ATA WC feels a lot like my old 06' 888 RC2X's... Before buying the ATA's I was doubting them a little over coil sprung 888's, but I have been very pleasently suprised. Very comfortable to ride with, feel stiff and trustworthy. (2008's).
4 Chillis for value, because of manual and adjustment description quality.

Bottom Line:
great fork. The feel is very nice and can eat up alot. Only have a few rides so far and holding back alot because the whole bike is new to me. My only gripe is it is a bit heavier than I tought it would be and the 07 ATA that was on my friends Bullit (now he also has 08) was noticably easier to get the fron end up. No big deal though I will eventually adjust.

Bottom Line:
Rigth out off the Box and mounted them onto my DH bike and setting them up to the rigth adjustments.This fork is so plush it's actually saging into it's travel off the weigth off the rider,the fork feels realy but awesome on turns and it soaks up the big hits with no problem.This is by far the best fork i now ride other forks didn't feel as nice as this magnificent 888 does and it's realy ligth in compairisson with most DH forks except the Boxxer WC.The 160mm - 200mm travel adjustment is a big bonus and works realy realy great.At 2.9kg with great adjustments and butter smooth damping this fork is one off the best Air DH air forks out there.Highly recommended on any other DH bikes out there.

These are so improved over last years fork, the travel is smoother than a coil, better lowers, no ata wind down. I had problems with the 07 888 rc2x's being rough at any speed but slow over med to rough trails, not with these forks they smooth out trail so much it almost feels like riding on asphalt. I didn't fully realize it until I rode my friends bike(He has the same bike but with 06 888 rc2x's) down the same trail what a difference, now he wants to get the forks there that good.Looking to buy new forks get these you will be amazed at how good they are.

the par chamber. when i got the fork i wasnt getting all of the travel out of it. my buddy took the par chamber out and it made the fork 200 times better. sooooo much smoother and i get all the travel
