Favorite Trail:Glentress black route
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:Pauls cycles
Strengths:Nice and light for racing and super plush for techy descents, also, it has a great lockout.
Weaknesses:Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Similar Products Used:Rockshox Reba SL
Bike Setup:Giant XTC zero 08
Bottom Line:All you people who don't like this fork are wrong, and it's probably because you don't know how to set it up properly! The easily adjustable rebound is great and the lockout is really easy to use. It performs really well on everything from smooth, fast, open sections to tight, rooty, techy, sections and I would recommend it to trail riders and XC racers alike!

Favorite Trail:Anything in Joaquin Miller Park
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:OEM on Scott Spark
Strengths:Gives me full travel, light, everything works on the fly with a quick flick. Stiff, relatively lite.
Weaknesses:Lacks the "C" of the RLC. Only available as OEM. WHITE. The proposed Air Pressure rates and SAG is way off course..needs much more experimentation.
Similar Products Used:SID Race and TEAM
Bike Setup:Scott Spark 20, XT/XTR, FL100RL, Look Quartz, DT Swiss X455 and 240 hubs, DT Nude TC shock, Juicy 7, Joplin, Selle SLR, Ritchey WCS Carbon Stem/Bars
Bottom Line:A very good fork...certainly heavier than the SID Race/teams, but gives me 20mm more travel and no flex. It can handle aggressive XC duties with a smattering of AM. The Scott Spark's head angle adjusts with the rear shock's SAG via tracloc @ Lockout-80mm-110mm...thus making the fork SAG change. AS an OEM..it's great, when you wear it out..get the RLC, I will.

Date Reviewed: July 8, 2008
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:Local Dealer
Strengths:Stiff, good finish, rebound adjustment works fine
Weaknesses:Adjustability, uses effectively only about 40mm of travel, dire damping characteristics.
Similar Products Used:Manitou R7 Elite 2007, Manitou Skareb Elite 2005, RS Pike Dual Air 2007, RS Recon Solo Air 2008
Bike Setup:Giant XTC Zero 2008
Bottom Line:Horrible Fork. My 2005 Skareb did a better job.
Problem is, that I can't figure out a setup below 30% SAG which does't kill my wrists in fast downhill sections, although under normal conditions 10% SAG would suffice by far...

by the way, the defualt pressure values given by Fox are a poor joke.

Will be replaced by a reba dual air sooner or later.

Favorite Trail:Tsali Thompson's loop
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:came with the bike
Strengths:Stiff
pretty light
New post mount disc
Weaknesses:Lack of adjustability
brake dive
Not that light
Similar Products Used:Manitou black, Man. Minute 3 IT, Fox Float xtt, RS Reba sl 29er, RS J3
Bike Setup:Stock '08 Epic expert with The Captain Control tires
Bottom Line:As a first time Fox owner I am not impressed. I think that I would like the RLC because of the adjustable compression and lockout blowoff. As this is an OEM only fork if you are thinking of getting on off of ebay spend the extra money and get the RLC or spend less and get a manitou. If you are thinking of getting a new bike and this comes on it see if you can talk your way into having it upgradded with the purchase.
