Date Reviewed: August 17, 2008
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:R&M Cyclery
Strengths:This fork is very supple over the small bumps, while still absorbing the big hits very well. Incredible for and aft, and side to side stiffness. Very easy to set up, and once dialed I just left the settings alone.
Weaknesses:Took a few tries to set the bottom-out air pressure correctly, but this is definately not a weakness.
Similar Products Used:Manitou travis, Boxxer, and various other failed forks.
Bike Setup:Trek Session 10 with Hadley's and a Killer White Brothers Groove 180
Bottom Line:This is by far one of the most underrated forks on the market. I can not speak for long term durability yet, but even if an issue arises I can just drive to Grand Junction and deal with the problem. So far I have had no spiking or oil leaks. The fork did take a while to break in (10 hours), but this just goes to show its tight build tolerances. The Fork is incredibly stiff, and can handle 10+ foot drops with ease. With 254mm of rear travel, I would probably go with the groove 200 if I had to do over again. Even with this concession I love how the fork rides, and I would not trade it for anything else. (except an Avalanche). Give this fork a try and you will have no regrets. If any issues arise I will repost to notify potential users.
