Date Reviewed: December 19, 2008
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $150.00
Strengths:This is actually for the dirt jumper 4s. Tough, basic, enough adjustment for me. I like that these forks are a matter of spending a few minutes adjusting them and then i haven't had to modify them since. they ride perfectly for my style. Got these second hand but unused for $150 nz so rediculously cheap.
Weaknesses:For me there isn't one
Similar Products Used:Manitou Splice Comp 100
Bike Setup:05 Keewee stealth with dj4 forks, hydraulic disks, etc etc
Bottom Line:Ride them first before buying. They are great for the urban free ride style riding i do where i don't want a soft fork to absorb every little bump but need a fork that still performs well when landing decent size drop offs and jumps. I guess if your expecting a smooth ride these aren't for you.

Bottom Line:I totally agree with Jeff. Its a "pogo stick in the mud".
It doesn't have the smooth compression and rebound it should have. I have tried different air pressures and still no change.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $200.00
Purchased At:craigslist
Strengths:Trustworthyness...I don't think it will suddenly break
Weaknesses:HEAVY!!! Not smooth, doesn't ajdust well(rebound effects preload, dampning) Feels like jumping on a pogo stick in the mud. It really feels like this, a spring in sticky mud.
Similar Products Used:Z1 drop-off 2
Bike Setup:07 p2, hussyfelt parts
Bottom Line:*sigh* OK, marzocchi makes some damn good forks, so why is this one so crappy? well, i did some research. Apparently, this fork, and a few others, are MADE IN TAIWAN. This may have to o with the fact that this fork has issues, that overall makes it ride terrible.

It rides rough. It seems to take medium bumps by traveling 1-2 inches, and then stopping. It doesn't go much further, even when adjusted, but take a big hit/drop, and it does go further, but feels hard, too hard, and at that rebounds poorly, either slow, or fast, but no adjustment can make it feel right, and it affects the dampning. its either "bouncy" or "muddy". muddy is a very very good word fo this fork, thats what it feels like, jumping a rigid fork into mud.

I can't figure out what is really wrong with this fork, it just doesn't have that smooth, progressive feeling the Z1s have. It acts like your are abusing it, it really does, like someone is going to tell me i'm being to rough on it, or its not "made to take that kind of hit". It just doesn't feel right on small or big jumps,or hits, and its heavy. The full travel can't be used, without setting it to bottom out all the time.

those who give this fork a good review are most likley new to the type of riding this fork is for, or haven't tried a Z1 drop off 2, which is better in every way, despite it not having a rebound adjustment. The dirt jumper 2 is made in italy, I would like to see if it is any better.

Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $180.00
Purchased At:wiggle.co.uk
Strengths:amazing adjustably
strong
looks good
little flex
Weaknesses:rebound knob threaded, had to take fork apart to release.
slightly on the heavy side
stantion bolts loosened
Similar Products Used:bomber 66, 888, junior t, z1.
Bike Setup:completely custom saracen xray frame
Bottom Line:Very good fork, not too expensive and functions perfectly.
if you want them stiffer, add more air to the right side.
if they are topping out (clunking on rebound) add some more rebound damping and it will not clunk.

if you mainly do dirt jumping/free ride you should buy this fork, you shouldn't manage to break it and is easy to setup to how you prefer it.

Strengths:these forks are sick, plush and strong and adjustable. plus the white bottoms and 20mm axel are sick too.

Favorite Trail:Port hills cool runnings
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $180.00
Purchased At:Penny sport cycles nz
Strengths:Burly as, i ride really hard on gear and constantly breaking things but the dj's are so strong that i can do any thing on them. I have Down hilled my 07 stuff heaps and i am normally at the front of the pack. I have done 2m drops to flat super technical sections and they never miss a beat. I like my fork quite hard and i love the thru axle and the rebound and air assist and all of the ajustments that the fork has! I have ridden up to a ski field so prob 10k in one go, i have done one and a half hours straight downhill on this fork and i have never had a problem or felt them flex or any thing at all. i cross countried this beast and all you need is a set of legs and big lungs and you sweet.
Weaknesses:It just makes an annoying top out thunk when the top out spring is engaged which is nothing bad just when i was new i thought the fork was broken lol otherwise apart from the weight which isn't that bad and you don't even notice the fork is the top one out there
Similar Products Used:strength wise 888, rc40's bombers.. but i tried pretty much every fork apart from weight weeni ones and 08's
Bike Setup:'07 Stuff. Dark metallic green, dj3's alyvio, hayes 9's 7 front 6 back, gravity everything dumb ditch witches and high rollers
Bottom Line:This fork really can do it all, its cheap, user friendly and if you set it up right you will never have to do it again until you get unfit or change your riding method. they pretty sexy too and got mad crowns. fit for the king!

Strengths:Strong, Reliable, Adjustable, just completely fantastic!
Weaknesses:Slightly too heavy, but if you are seriously looking at these forks, that won't be a problem.
Similar Products Used:Suntour Duro 130mm, Marzocchi Dirt Jam Pro
Bike Setup:Flow Drift with all the best parts!!
Bottom Line:I don't know why people complain about these forks topping out, because all you need to do is either run less air in them or up the rebound damping. I'm glad that's sorted out.

Well, I have had them for 10 months now, and they are still going as strong as when i bought them for £160. The only thing you need to do to keep them working sweet is wipe the stanchions down after every ride like it says in the manual, and occasionally put silicone spray on them.

I run no air in my forks, which is not a problem as they are coil but AIR ASSISTED. Generally I run the rebound about in the middle of the two extremes and the forks work beautifully. They never bottom out nor top out and they seem very plush. If you want them a little harder, all you need to do is put some more air in them with a shock pump.

Overall, very good forks that i would recommend to anyone who needs some new dirt jump forks. Why buy anything more expensive when these are so good so cheap? BUY BUY BUY!

Weaknesses:heavy, although weight isn't an issue to me. tops out like crazy. topping out doesn't affect the performance, but it make it feel like something's loose.

Bottom Line:pretty decent fork for what you would pay for it, although it's heavy and tops out. good for beginner to intermediate and for those who don't mind weight.

my doesn't have standard dropout like the normal dj3 so it keeps everything stiff
i like the crown marzochhi forks have
I like the rebound adjustment
Weaknesses:Not the best thing out there
Similar Products Used:05 dj3,gold labels, drop off IV.

Bottom Line:very good fork the djs are lighter than they have deen the past years but are still strong
Mines a little different from the one in the pic for the review cuz it has qr dropouts and some other differents
I figure mines must be between the normal dj3 and the dj2 like the dj3.5 to the dj 4 and dj3.
If you can get this fork and if you have the money get a dj2
