Bottom Line:
I rented a bike with a 888 for a day at whistler and i really couldn't feel a notable difference between it and my 66.
I'm 220lbs and these 66 fork is just as solid as the 888...I probably didn't push hard enough?
This is made in italy. If you can be fortunate enough to grab one, do so! I ride aggressive xc with this for in socal. meant it for Whistler and dh stuff but i like the punishment of climbs and to lazy to drive up to whistler. the eta is just bit(#en for the climbs
This fork is clearly the standard for utter plushness in single crown forks.
I haven't done anything to this fork. no oil changes, nuth'n and it rides as plush as ever!
Bike Setup: 2003 red specialized bighit with 6.3in travel and this suitable fork!

Strengths: my riding buddy...
he let me try his out on a dh course
i loved them the took anything i gave them i did a 5 meter drop and they still wanted more. they were great forks they are strong didnt bottom out and were good forks overall
Weaknesses: cant think of any for they couple of times i rode them
Bottom Line:
great forks took everything i could give them on the course but could still take more i have ridden on them about 6 times now and still want to wide his bike all the time.
Strengths: I have got a similar fork to these, mine are the 66 rcv versions.They are real plush and they ride like a dream, they deliever a perfect proformance everytime! Its strength are its ability to tackle anything you throw at it!
Weaknesses: I have had only one problem with my forks, after less then 6 months of average use (not extreme at all) the bushings gave in and seem to need replacing. This has caused my forks to rock and give play. I am asking for adice, does anyone know how to fix this problem and what tools i would need if i were to do it myself and not send them away? Unfortunately my bushings were the only peice on the bike that is not covered by the warranty, so i need to find out how to fix them myself.

These forks feel amazing!! The ETA is great for going up hill, flip the switch point your bike downhill and they will take whatever I throw at them. So Smooth.

Strengths: This fork is insane. You barely need to preload for a drop or jump. You just shift your weight and it does the work for you as long as your sag is adjusted correctly. It holds traction better than any fork I have ever used on loose ground. It has that killer Marzocchi pillow feel to it. The ETA works great. I ride in So Cal and with all the climbing that is required it is a perfect match. When its time for the reward you hit the switch and your off running. The fork also is real stiff and has good weight ballance. You need that for DH runs.
Weaknesses: None as of yet. One suggestion for the previous dudes review. For the previouse dude. The ETA is stiff so you have to put a little wieght into it to compress it all the way down or it will do it while your riding.
Bottom Line:
This fork is worth every penny. They should have made it again in the 2008 line up.
Strengths: Handled everything at Whistler, Mammoth, Northstar, and locally that I had the cahones to hit. Consistent!
Solid folk for DH/FR rig. I think it would be overkill for an AM bike. This is a perfect fork for the rider wanting to stick with the single crown manueverability but still get 7 inches of plush travel. Spring with air assist, so heavier than some.
Weaknesses: Had to have it rebuilt when I first bought it ($25 for essentially an oil change) due to only getting about 120mm of travel out of it. Strange.
Secondly, on occasion when in the ETA mode and climbing, if there is a bump the shock will compress even further and stay even more stuck down than intended. Very odd. I simply reset it by flipping it off and back on by the lever, but it shouldn't do this.
Bottom Line:
Like anything, it needs to be set up to your individual riding taste. Consistency is the word. Rock/boulder gardens, drops (so far nothing more than 9 feet), jumps, technical riding - it handles it all.
Oh, yeah, and the ability to drop it for climbing to the top - fantastic. Dropping one flaming chili for having to pay for the rebuild and the ETA compressioning issue.

Strengths: Every thing on this fork is amazing. First of all, the buttery smooth travel with all the adjustments you need. it feels bottomless. The Rebound is great on this fork so is the compression. If the fork feels to plush then you can just put a little bit of air into it and it will be perfect

this fork is amazing if you fing it with a good price you should not hessitate to buy one. it gives you a whole new level of confidence.

Strengths: Oh so plushhhh! Performs like a 66 should. The ETA feature worked perfect for the climb.The fork is very light for a heavy duty freeride fork.

Bottom Line:
Took my '07 66 RC2ETA for their maiden ride today, the ETA feature worked perfect for the climb, when engaged, the fork compresses and locks down after the initial sag and still has 30mm( says marzocchi) for the small stuff. When the ETA is not engaged, the fork performs like a 66 should, oh so plushhhhhhh!. Perfect marriage with the ETA and a freeride fork. So far I am very happy. Still need to get it dialed in perfect but a great fork.I will right another review in a couple months after the break in. 3 flames for value, they are not cheap, but this a good example of getting what you paid for, and you pay for a good quality product.
Bike Setup: '05 Ellsworth Joker, Chris King HS, Race Face X type crank. XT front and rear DR, Avid Juicy 7s, Race Face Diabolous Stem and bars. 50x pedals Chris king front hub, Manitou 3way shock, and my 66RC2 ETA forks.

Bottom Line:
Get this fork if you love hitting drops, stunts, and rock gardens but also want to enjoy the ride up. The ETA works surprisingly well and sticking it in the 66 was an awesome idea. Zokes has got the damping dialed in with the RC2 cartridges this year. This fork feels much better than my old 888. It's very plush and stiff and has good adjustment ability. If you don't care to ride up get a 66RC2X instead as they are a fair bit lighter.

Strengths: Ridiculously plush out of the box. Unlike other Marzocchi's I've owned, it required zero break-in period. Stiff, handles hard impacts at high speed without flinching, and did I mention plush? The ETA makes climbing bearable. It's one of my favorite features on my AM1, and makes thsi by far the most versatile big fork I've ever seen or ridden.
Weaknesses: The ETA lever is so easy to use and engage that the front brake cable accidentally pushed into the 'on' position when I was dirt jumping. I landed a few jumps that felt too steep and finally discovered why - the fork had compressed itself. A zip tie will fix that problem with ease though - otherwise, no weaknesses whatsoever.
Bottom Line:
By far the best fork I've ridden. Insanely plush, easy to set up, stiff, fast, and so much more maneuverable and lighter than the Shiver DC it replaced. The ETA is one of my favorite fork features and it absolutely shines on the 66. The fork must extend 5" when you unlock it - it's crazy to watch. If you have to ride uphill to get to the goods, I don't think there's a better fork on the market right now. Possibly the new Totem, but the 66 has been refined on the market for 3 seasons now and I just trust Marzocchi. (Plus it's much cheaper than the new RS forks.) Nothing feels as good. Worth every penny.

Somebody knows he size (I.D, O.D and height in mm) of the 2007 66 RC2 ETA oil seals, mine is pouring out oil and I have not a zocchi dealer nearby, I will try in an oil seal shop.
