Strengths: Light
Stiff
Reliable
Best damper on the market
Weaknesses: No longer made... So bummed.
Bottom Line:
Hands down the best trail fork money could buy... I have the super model with MARS air spring. It was Intrinsic, which was an excellent big hit and small bump sensitive damper, but switched to tpc+ which is better for trail riding. Nothing bad to say about this fork. It has amazing action, smooth, supple, adjustable, easy to tune, maintain... I wish I had five of them.
Strengths: look good, relatively light, stiff. they dont look cheap like previous manitou forks, they actually look quality. Says its made in the USA.
Weaknesses: progresivness, i found that with the rebound maxed out it wasnt as fast as i would have liked, and with the compression as soft as it goes, it was still to stiff.
Bottom Line:
its not worth the 800$$ price tag, but 275 brand new was a steal. The adjustments didnt let me tune it enough to get it how i like, and i feel it lacks progresivness. The initial travel is to stiff whilst the ending travel is to soft. It would feel alot better if it was plusher and then stiffer. The 20mm hex lock is easy to use, and really stiff. Did i mention the fork looks really nice?? i dont feel it is worth the retail price of 800, but then again i would never pay that much for any fork. overall for the price i paid, its alot of bang for the buck, and is a killer fork for howe much i paid. if u can get one cheap, then go for it.

Strengths: Extremely reliable, just right for riders just at or under 175lbs, comfortable, stiffens on long downhills, would probably even work for a light weight rider doing downhill riding.
Weaknesses: Is only recomended to be pumped to 175 psi which may not allow some larger riders, intrinsic damping doesnt adjust noticably enough to be extremely useful. Not enough ppl know about its magical powers which helps you with post ride "soreness", seriously.
Bottom Line:
This review is for an '06 Nixon Platinum. (They're still pretty widely in circulation) This fork really doesnt recieve enough attention. Its one of the greatest XC forks iv ever ridden and still very versatile. I think Manitou scared every1 away with the 900$ MSRP. But its widely available for under 350$, for this level of quality its unbeatable. I weigh 150lbs 5'10" and it works perfectly.

Strengths: plush , it works perfectly , 160mm travel
Weaknesses: through axle works loose giving front wheel bearing play , not really a problem I just tighten it every ride
Bottom Line:
this review is for the 07 nixon plat. it model 160mm , 20mm aXLE .
this fork works well , not as stiff as fox 36 but overall a better fork for me . i love the it adjustment , intrinsic DAMPNING adjustment is more plush than previous spv version . 160mm travel is better on my bike for steep downhills and drops .
had several problems with the it and oil leaks on the 2005 model but I liked the fork so much that I brought a new one 2007 model , no problems at all . works perfect .
