Strengths:
Note -- this review is for the 2006 model (Minute :03). On the plus side: Strength -- it feels bomb-proof. Makes the bike truly point-and-go. Tracks well when climbing too. Weight -- not bad. I am a clyde (207 lbs) so I wanted a strong fork.
Weaknesses:
None so far -- maybe the rebound adjustment feels a little hokey.

Bottom Line:
I bought in spite of the SPV feature, not because of it. I keep the SPV and the main air pretty plush. Anyway, after my first true test on it, down a screaming singletrack descent with roots, rocks and small drops, I knew I had a winner. I go faster, steer better, feel more confident -- it makes me a better rider AND I have more fun.

Had resisted Answer forks for years, but I just couldn't refuse this one. Half a pound lighter and half inch more travel than my 06 TALAS. And it steers better! I have the standard QR style, and this fork tracks really well with my King hub and 719 rim. Fork is very plush, but can get stiff if the SPV is set too high; I found mine works very well with only 45 psi in platform, 70 psi in spring ( I weigh 200 lbs) These are lower than factory recomendations. But I rarely stand and hammer hills. Once set up, it's just a Jump On and Go fork. THought I would miss the lock out and the travel adjust, but so far I haven't. This bike does not seen to need them, and I don't mind not having to deal with all the adjustments on trail. So far, quite impressed with the fork; TALAS is just collecting dust.

Bottom Line:
The suspension gods have finally bestowed their glory upon me and gave me an offering to complete my dream of a perfect bike. I thought not having the travel feature was a mistake[the platinum has it] yet I really dont need it. This fork is stiffer and smoother than my all mountain sl and 1.4 pounds lighter. The recomended pressure settings are a good starting point, and you only need 1 shock pump to set both spv[max 175psi] and spring[max 300] pressure.

Strengths:
Infinately tuneable, set it up for progressive or linear travel. Feels bottomless. Bolt thru axle makes the fork track true and flex free. Killer looks.

Strengths:
Typical Manitou: plush, spike free movement (when you get it dialled in). Got the qr hex axle and its the dogs. Light, stiff, perfect tracking, don't notice the fork - it just does its job.
Weaknesses:
Needing to carry 2 pumps to tune the thing on the trail. Not a massive range of rebound damping but adequate.
