Favorite Trail:Blue Marsh
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Super plush, stiff, 45deg dropout, easy setup, high quality, Brake hose guide, Albert select lever is a sweet piece of German engineering.
Weaknesses:Stanchions leak a little of oil
Similar Products Used:F100X, Marzocchi Bomber
Bike Setup:2007 Titus Motolite, XTR F+R+Cranks, PG990, Spinergy Xyclone wheelset converted with Stan's, Avid Elixier CR, King HS, Race Face Stem, Ergon Grips, Thomson Seatpost, WTB Saddle, ... 26.5lbs
Bottom Line:Magura is really coming on strong with this product. Overall a great product. Makes obstacles underneath the wheel disappear compared to my F100X. The Albert Select keeps the fork from bobbing, but harshens the ride a bit.
Can't wait to equip my other bike with a Magura product as well.

Favorite Trail:some stuff
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $650.00
Purchased At:www.pricepoint.com
Strengths:super stable during turns thanks to the dual arch design. extremely plush and high quality. they designed it perfectly and even the fork pump is highest quality. nice adjust ability but a compression knob would have been nice instead of having to use the Albert select.
Weaknesses:fitting the wheel in with a disc on it can be a little tricky. if your running a hydraulic disc brake its a pain because the cable/hose guide isn't opened so you need to take the hose off the caliper, thread it through the guide, then reinstall it.

Bike Setup:2008 trek 8500
Bottom Line:great fork, little pricey but its handmade in germane and you will never have a problem with it.

Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:merlin uk
Strengths:good stable design very smooth easy to set up
Weaknesses:none for the actual fork but the remote lockout lever is very poor which stickes open and crushes the cable, best to remove it, or pay to have a fork mounted lever fitted
Bottom Line:good fork just get fork mounted lock out lever

Date Reviewed: October 21, 2006
Favorite Trail:Glentress
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Merlin Cycles, Leyland, Lancs, UK
Strengths:Straight from box plushness, Loads of platform and rebound adjustment, Albert Select remote lock-out
Weaknesses:Still a niche brand. Although with time that should change.
Similar Products Used:Fox Vanilla RL
Bike Setup:Hardtail XC
Bottom Line:Magura have really come on leaps and bounds from their old "Rond" style forks. They will deserve the plaudits that they will aquire for these new breed of Magura forks. Fantastically designed, well built forks from the German brake miesters.

These forks will suit XC trail and singletrack riders and hard core huckers alike. For more aggresive riders and freeriders see the Wotan.
