Strengths:    Adjustability, plushness, smoothness. The fork just feels amazing once you have it tuned.

Weaknesses:    My seals were out very fast. I've gone through 2 sets in a season.

Bottom Line:
If you've got a mechanical background and keep your fork in good shape this thing is amazing. If you are one of the "set it and forget it" guys, this probably isn't your fork. Like I said though, if you want amazing performance this is the fork to ride.

Strengths:    Dampening, stiffness, adjustability, and stregth. It is a really flickable fork that doesnt way much. Good looking also.

Weaknesses:    A little hard to set up.

Bottom Line:
The best damn fork on the market! You get what you pay for and you cant get any better than this fork.

P.S.
That richard cranium guy that wrote a review on this fork did not ride this fork because it is IMPOSSBLE to snap a fork with 40mm stanchions!

Strengths:    very light and stiff fork, handle rough stuff real well and theyre great over high speed bumps. feel great when you keep them serviced

Weaknesses:    high maintenance, doesn't bother me because most top of the line race forks do need heaps of maintenance, damper got air in it a couple of times and stopped working but it's an easy fix. look gay in the silver/grey colour, i got mine painted white

Bottom Line:
these are the best forks money can buy, it pays to learn how to service them yourself because it'll save you a lot of money, they out perform any other fork i've ridden

4 chillis for value because theyre the most expensive dh fork out
5 chillis for performance

Strengths:    Works always when needed, very plush and adjustments do make the fork perform as needed.

Weaknesses:    NONE, NONE

Bottom Line:
GO BUY ONE!! I used my 06 40 on my Uzzi vpx it ripped with less travel. I bought this years model and put it on a v-10 full 203mm and it ripped as well as my 06 @ 210 LBS. with gear on I have hucked 10ft+ drops with this thing with the stock green spring with no probs. I broke off one of the lower bolt heads, called up Fox and they asked how many I wanted and if I needed any other parts (crush washers) FREE OF CHARGE SHIPPING INCLUDED!!! HOW IS THAT FOR SERVICE!!! this fork is the finest made. So fox when are you going to step up to 180mm single crown?????? I WILL BE READY CASH IN HAND!

Strengths:    everything!!! they are not to soft on the road or a flat section but when u get on the coarse the work well and they dont feel to heavy and they also look great!!!

Weaknesses:    I cant find any

Bottom Line:
They look better than any other fork iv seen and they are also the probobly the most reconisible. Compered to the boxxer world cup they are alot stronger and more bulky are still aproxomatly the same weight.

They are probly the best DH fork out

Strengths:    Very good for small bumps (high speed compression) and surprisingly good at big hits

Weaknesses:    I heard it had weak lowers... but I havent had any problems so far and if they break lowers only cost $250 candian so its worth the lighter fork

Bottom Line:
I'm mostly a freerider (and I do SOME DH racing but not much) and I wanted to get a 888 for my new 07 VP free but the salesman talked me out of it and told me I should keep it because it is such a high end fork. So I listened to him and it turned out to be a great choice! it is surprisingly light and "flickable" and it can take big hits and not bottom out! Plus it has very good small bumb absorbance (I almost dont even feel bumps in the front of my bike). One thing that scares me is the dial on the bottom of the fork, I'm just really scared its going to hit a rock and break off. But otherwise it is an amazing fork and it looks so sweet too!

Strengths:    Very nice feeling suspension. MUST be dialed in for a specific rider. Once it is setup right it can take both big and little hits.

Weaknesses:    Requires more attention than most forks I've used. A little pricy but hey......it's a 40.

Bottom Line:
Not sure why this fork gets so many bad reviews. I keep hearing how may break but have not seen many broken. However people see it, I still think it's a great fork that responds real well once you figure out how to set it up properly. Take the time and care for it...and I assure you it will take care of you.

Strengths:    Light, sexy looking - seemed reasonably stiff

Weaknesses:    Incredibly thin lowers

Bottom Line:
Not too stoked on this fork, it came stock on my D8 and I got all of two rides on it before I veered slightly off line, caught a rock near my drop out, and pierced my lower. Any part will break if abused, but the truth of the matter is that I've wrecked hundreds of times, and I've never had anything like this happen. It might be speculation on my part, as I'm no engineer, but it seems that the material is spread WAY thin on these lowers. I'll likely be replacing this fork once I buy a new set of lowers, I can't be dealing with this sort of stuff mid race season on a fork that retails for $1600. I like Fox's stuff, but this is a joke.

Strengths:    Nothing, it would not comply with my riding. I would go off two drops and it would reak a terrible odor. Also, damaged after a 10 foot drop off my roof!!

Weaknesses:    Everything!!! Nothing would perform right. After my little spill off my roof i went DH riding. While i was doing that my right stanchion was pierced cleanly throught by a 10in branch....How does that happen!!!!! (Stupid 40mm's)

Bottom Line:
Terrible, would not recomment unless you like being harmed by doing nothing.
