This DVD is a documentary that takes us back to the early days of mountain biking in Marin County, when dope-smoking hippies, or hippies, or hipsters, or hip racers, or long-haired cyclists got together in their plaid and denim and junk bikes and raced them as fast as they could. Everyone has seen the pictures, many know some of the names, but here is the rare moment where the founders tell their stories on film. Sure, Gary Fisher and Tom Ritchey speak, but so does their onetime partner Charlie Kelly.

Strengths:
Saw this at a film festival in Encinitas CA, at the La Paloma Theater in February '09.
Bottom Line:
Billy Savage made an awesome vid! This movie should be required viewing for anyone into mountain biking. The movie is centered around the Marin County clunker Repack riders of the early '70's. A lot a great interview footage of Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze, Charlie Kelly, and more. A "must have" video for your collection!

Bottom Line:
This is a great video documenting the history of the birth of our sport in Marin County. I first saw it on the big screen at the Newport Film Festival, and loved it so much, I couldn't wait to get a copy of my own. Really well done flick that even non mountain bikers would likely enjoy. Buy a copy, you won't regret it.
