Price Paid: $10.00
Strengths:A great movie. The reference to Dave's mother's passport is her dream to take a trip to Europe or the Far East and she tells this to Dave to let him know that he shouldn't give up on his dream. A lesson for all of us. I watch this movie several times a year-usually when its raining. Every biker should own this movie.
Weaknesses:The Preppie fratboy doesn't get his ass kicked often enough.
Similar Products Used:American Flyer. Kind of lame(cowboy hats?!!)
Bottom Line:No excuses for not owning this one if you ride. Also helps to explain our obession to our "significant" others.

Favorite Trail:A smooth road
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:An entertaining story.
Weaknesses:A bit silly at times...
Similar Products Used:American flyers
Bike Setup:Cannondale CAAD3 Saeco frame with 105, speedplay pedals.
Bottom Line:A decent film about coming of age, with a fair bit of cycling in it. Not the greatest film I have ever seen, but definately worth the time to watch it.

Date Reviewed: January 25, 2000
Favorite Trail:The Oaks at night
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Weaknesses:Smoking
Bike Setup:Manitou FS circa 1995
Bottom Line:The best movie ever. Taped this movie 10 years ago and watch it every time I need a boost. Cannot work out the reference to Daves' mother's passport, any clues. Who was the sprinter (body double) following the semi, it certainly wasn't Dave. You want wont a REFUND if you hire it, my favourite part. 'Refund, Refund".

Date Reviewed: September 4, 1999
Duration Product Used:
more than 3 years
Weaknesses:
none
Bike Setup:
bontrager race-lite
Bottom Line:This is the greatest movie ever. Even my girlfriend likes it. It only has road riding but hey it's 20 years old. It is funny and entertaining throughout the movie. My favorite scene is when he says he has to train and they show him riding rollers in the rain and his out of shape dad looks at him through the window of his work and just shakes his head. this movie is so good. Go rent it next time you go by a video store.
