from Edmonton, AB Date Reviewed: May 24, 2002 | | Duration Product Used: | More than 3 years | | Price Paid: |
$10.00 | | Strengths: | Comprehensive Excellent maps and narrative | | Weaknesses: | Too big to go with you Not waterproof | | Similar Products Used: | Many | | Bottom Line: | Superb guide to biking on the eastern slopes of Alberta & the BC Rockies. Covers out of the way areas like Grande Cache. Trail summaries give a very good description of what to expect, like the author has actually rode them.
This book is now in its third edition, I believe. I own the original edition authored by Gerhard Lepp. Funny to see how the difficulty ratings for trails have dropped in more recent editions, reflecting the advances in bikes and rider skills. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Covers a lot of places | | Weaknesses: | Pictures are of knobby old dudes with caliper brakes and one piece handlebar-stem-thingys and some of them even have paniers... | | Bottom Line: | essential for non-residents wanting to go biking to this region. | Overall Rating: |
