$20.00 | | Purchased At: | LBS | | Strengths: | The best gripping tire I've ridden on hardpack climbs | | Weaknesses: | Rolling resistance (slow), turning | | Similar Products Used: | Panracer Fire Pro, Hutch. Alligators, IRC, whatever originally came with my bikes | | Bike Setup: | Raleigh M80, Bomber X-fly, XT front & rear, gripshifts, Mavic Links, 8 speed baby! | | Bottom Line: | This tire is awesome if you use it for what it is intended for. Hands down the best gripping tire I've used on hardpack/ medpack conditions. Not a great mult-purpose tire and not great on tight turns (but not as bad as other reviews have stated). If conditions are dry and you want to impress your riding buddies throw this tire on. If you want to run the gammet of conditions get the Hutch. Alligator. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$20.00 | | Purchased At: | Came on bike | | Strengths: | Good breaking, fast rolling | | Weaknesses: | NO Sidebite. | | Similar Products Used: | IRC Something Smoke Panaracer Front | | Bike Setup: | Cannondale SuperV 500 | | Bottom Line: | Forget tight turns, cause you won't make them. Side bite is really really bad. But braking is great and they are a fast tire. Not good on trails. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

First race, I go down on the fastest hill. Heavy Wire bead | | Similar Products Used: | IRC Mythos XC Kevlar Kenda Klaw | | Bike Setup: | Trek racing hard tail w/ESP & XT. SID (now, after i got some good stuff, and replaced everything, including these tires! | | Bottom Line: | These tires are alright if you ride on the road, and the surface is somewhat tacky, but otherwise, forget em! They have no cornering bite at all. Get some Mythos XCs, or anything kevlar for that matter. You will appreciat the weight savings and ease to change flats. | Overall Rating: |

from Washington, DC Date Reviewed: September 30, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | Low price Good for light off-road and level hard-pack/pavement. | | Weaknesses: | Not single-track worthy Wears relatively fast | | Similar Products Used: | Conti XC 2.0 Conti Traction 2.1 Geax Warp 2.15 Geax Grid 2.0 | | Bike Setup: | Cannondale CAAD2 frame rigid | | Bottom Line: | This tire is ok for what it is. It does not excel at any particular type of surface. Its profile is too round for the side knobs to ever make significant contact with the ground surface, and therefore traction is mediocre at best. It came with the bike, but I would definitely never go out and buy it on my own. There are many other better tires out there. | Overall Rating: |
