$23.00 | | Purchased At: | bike tires direct | | Strengths: | A pretty good tire for short-track and cyclocross in DRY, hard-packed conditions. Excellent cornering. Also a good choice for mountain bikes that double as commuters. For the rainy season and/or real off-road useage, better to swap in something with more bite all around. | | Weaknesses: | Strong center ridge not suitable for mud or loose, chunky dirt/gravel. | | Bike Setup: | Kona MTB, singlespeed w/Soucraft Convert kit and Surly cog | | Bottom Line: | Decent for the money but has limited off-road application. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Phoenix, Az Date Reviewed: October 13, 1998 | | Bottom Line: | It is kind of a funny looking tire. Agressive on the outside but a mild on road/hard dirt trail pattern in the center. I ride alot on the street so I didn't want the rough off road tread vibration and noise to put up with. These are smooth and quiet, handle great, and look good too. They however will not take any hard off roading as theyre not designed for it. the only drawback I have found is that in the rain the tend to create a slight suction cup effect and tend to throw excessive water up and make a funny sound. I determin that to be good since they are only gripping the road/trail better. this tire is my touring tire of choice for on/off road atb's | Overall Rating: |
