This tire is great for fun riding or if you are riding very rough terain, off camber, small to large rocky surfaces and you need serious traction, great as front tire. Almost did not fell the road as tire absorded every thing. On sandy surfaces the sand sticks to the tires and then is thrown off. Kelowna trails have a lot of sharp rocks that can really rip up a tire. So far I have no complaints with both these tires and since I added the Launch to the back, my Bullit just flies down the trail and the 2.3 Prime wide has a good round profile for predictable cornering. I think the impression of Prime Wide 2 24 x 3.0 duro 57 and Prime Bite 24 x 2.75 should be totally different.

It rolls fast for the wide width (24 x 3.0 57 duro). Not expensive. I never got a flat tire once, yet eventhough I use light IRC DH tubes. | | Weaknesses: | Heavy as usually DH tires are. I wish Arrow makes this with Kevlar bead. | | Similar Products Used: | High Roller 24 x 2.7 (50 duro). I tried High Roller after using Prime Wide 2 (57) and got hurt from sliding side way. I put the Arrow tires back to my bike. High Roller is lighter, but the new Prime Bite would be simular to the High Roller. Now, even the Prime Bite 24 x 2.75 is available with 57 duro version, so I'm planning to change the rear to Prime Bite 24 x 2.75 57 duro, while keeping the front to Prime Wide 2 24 x 3.0 57 duro.

The regular wall version is light(skinwall version is even lighter!) at about 1120g. Round profile and 24 size makes it handle quickly even though it is a 2.6in tire! Lowers BB height so making cornering better. works wellon dry surfaces. | | Weaknesses: | Measures less than claimed on my 32mm rims(not 2.75 but 2.6). The DH wall version is heavy ~1350g. Low profile lowers BB height signifcantly and can cause u to hit so rocks with pedals. Does work well on wet and muddy surfaces. Climbing on loose surfaces is not the best. These are great tires for dry surfaces only, their preformance on wet surfaces is poor. The Dh Wall version allows u to run lower pressures(20psi) but since it is heavier it will accelerate slower. The Regular wall version needs more pressure(30psi at the back, 25psi front) but accelerates much faster(it feels like almost like a semi slick!). Cornering is very good due to the large side knobs. they do wear faster than most other tires but the advantages by far out weigh the disadvantages. I will try to get the skinwall version(it is even lighter ~1035g) and will see if it is even better than the Regular wall version. This tire works great both in the front and back.
So i would only recommend the DH wall version if u are a heavy or very agressive rider. For regular folk sticking with the Regular wall will be fine. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |
