Strengths: nice lookingWeaknesses: piece of crap. The BOA system failed on me on the day of a big race (La Ruta). The little tiny string they put in snapped. Stay far far far away from this system. Poorly engineered and it'll get you when least expected. I only rode these shoes while racing. So, maybe about 12 times or so. Not much.Bottom Line: sucks. Go Velcro!!! I heard those little plastic connectors snap. Even on the expensive shoes.

Strengths: very stiff sole, the boa retentions system is secure and doesn't create ony hot spots on my feet.Weaknesses: Last night I broke one of the cables that is part of the retention system. I contacted Pearl directly and they said they would send me a couple and they were almost as easy to change as a regular shoelace.Bottom Line: I love these shoes, pearl izumi was very prompt to answer the question I had about replacing the retention strap. In the pearls I found a shoe that fits my wide larger foot. My next pair will definitly be another set of pearls.
