Submitted by Dennis Lo a Weekend Warrior from Hsinchu, Taiwan
Date Reviewed: January 29, 2002
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:price is cheap, and at least it worked for about 3 months.
Weaknesses:NO DURABILITY WHATSOEVER!!! I dropped a flight of stairs only about 1.5 meters high last night, and I broke the shock's pivot in two! What a $&$%^#$% waste of my @#$#% money!!!!
Similar Products Used:Rockshox 2002 Super Deluxe
Bottom Line:Do not EVER buy this worthless piece of crap. It makes all sorts of weird noises, breaks very easily, and looks bad as well. Go for a Fox or Rockshox. Don't buy the rear shocks manufactured from the Pacific Rim.

Submitted by scott a Downhiller from uk
Date Reviewed: November 27, 2000
Favorite Trail:local woods
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:Cheap, okay for ridders who have just started out mountain biking.
Weaknesses:Not very well engineered shock, for what it is made for. Not that smooth and also the internals of the shock, look like some sort of toy town production.
Similar Products Used:Fox, marzocchi, rockshox.
Bottom Line:Overall the shock is alright for the money. If shockworks are going to make a shock, they could atleast make it properly.

Date Reviewed: July 8, 2000
Favorite Trail:bedframe
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:its a cheap shock that works really good when its working.
Weaknesses:i keep getting this cracking noise but i just had it adjusted to far out and the spring was getting traped witch would make this loud cracking noise. so i adjusted the shock in wow way better. until the cracking noise came back. i now have basically no rear travel (0.25) but on the good side it works well. but for a freerider you need something more than that.
Similar Products Used:fox/rs/stratos.
Bike Setup:marin alpine trail with drop offs roox bar hope brakes sun double wides s&m pedals azonic stem etc.
Bottom Line:if you want a really plush (0.25) of travel this is the shock for you. but if u want a full suspension and u arent some crazy x-country racer than u should probably look for something else.

Submitted by simon fox a Cross Country Rider from warwickshire,uk
Date Reviewed: April 2, 2000
Favorite Trail:offchurch,uk
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:good price
Weaknesses:intermitant failure of shock rebound
Similar Products Used:rst
Bike Setup:marin rock springs full suspension
Bottom Line:this shock promised much and delivered little....
the intermitant failure of this product ruined what would have been a top day out.
it appears that the damping circuit is failing, cause unknown.
i will be taking the advice of other on-line bikers and changing the shock for a fox vanilla rc.

Cheap, Adjustable compression and rebound damping. CNC machined so it looks tough! I bought it to replace a conastantly blowing RS Coupe Deluxe and have had no dramas with it at all.
Weaknesses:none yet
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox, DNM,
Bike Setup:Avanti Moto
Bottom Line:A cheaper shock that looks good and works really well.

Date Reviewed: November 28, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Brindies
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
Rigidity, adjustability, Price
Weaknesses:
Haven't had it long enough
Similar Products Used:
RST 56, Fox, Rockshox, Stratos
Bike Setup:
Raceline(cheap Intense copy), ZZYZX, Single chainring
Bottom Line:Blew up the RST (again) on last practise run before a race, fitted the Shockworks and the bike immediatly felt more balanced and more rigid. Went well in the race run (6KM lots of fast fire road and speed bumps braking bumps and tussock grass singletrack). Love the adjustability the feel and the price.
