Can dampen big drops easily. Stiff and solid, holds and fastens on to your bike like glue. | | Weaknesses: | Looks could be nicer, big spring doesnt show much fashion sense. Adjuster cap are wayyy to much adjustments for 1/4 of a turn. Doesnt dampen small humps. | | Similar Products Used: | None. | | Bike Setup: | Progear 2005, Shimano System, DNM Fireball rear shock, RST T-4 Fork , Progear saddle, Modified handgrips, Promax disc brakes, Grunge guards for both derailluers. | | Bottom Line: | Great entry level rear shock. $10.00 | | Purchased At: | Ebay | | Strengths: | Big spring, better than something that is broken? Hey I'm trying real hard here, alright. | | Weaknesses: | No dampening at all, can you say bounce? | | Similar Products Used: | Fox vanilla coil, Marin Shockworks, and some other DNM that came stock on an old Mongoose (threw it away because I thought is was broke, but now I learned that it didn't have any dampening to begin with, just like this Fireball) | | Bike Setup: | Marin Alpine Trail | | Bottom Line: | hmm, do not use with Unified rear triangle design frames, (bounce) unless you really like pogosticks, which I do, but you can't race with `em. (wow, theres an idea) The only reason this shock gets by at all is because the spring is so stiff that it doesn't need much dampening. I got this thing incredibly cheap off of ebay. I was short on money and my shockworks broke on my Marin, so I bought this, and it got me through a couple of races now with less than desirable results. (boing) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

| | Bottom Line: | This is an updated review. Well, I've been using this shock for quite a long time, I read other reviews about this shock and I think this shock really belongs to a department store bike. Ths coil spring is way too small but that makes up for the adjustbility. The ring that is at the end of the spring was a little bit snapping. I seriously don't think this shock is good for anything even thou it came on a downhill bike, it is alright for some cross-country riding sometimes. Too make up for all those weaknesses: The best rebound ever The most adjustbility shock ever even not much travel because if you are over the age of 9, this shock is not suitable at all, NOT good for an upgrade what so ever. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
