Date Reviewed: March 17, 2008
Duration Product Used:6 months
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:very adjustable, plush and smooth
Weaknesses:it blows up harshly, rubbish quality metal body. don't like the colour (might be just me).
Similar Products Used:Fox Vannila fox dhx5 romic manitou swinger
Bike Setup:coyote dh3, , MRP, Mavic Deemax XT stuff....
Bottom Line:Good at first but gets worse over time, its cheap for a reason basically, i was hitting a particularly root full part of a local track at the time it blew. Couldn't be bothered too fix it, so just bought a fox which is miles better, and if it goes wrong it can be fixed by TF tuned. Only buy the DNM if you're a light rider,, but even then its still not ideal, as its a coil shock.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:smooth cycle
Strengths:wern't many strengths other than price!!!!
Weaknesses:blew out during my third downhill race! The shock felt horrible, even new. Felt like i was ridding a trampolene
Similar Products Used:Vanilla, FOX (no comparison)
Bike Setup:KHS Fetish
Bottom Line:Don't ever consider using this shock. the Fetish is a budget downhill bike and you get what you pay for, but avoid dnm as much as possible! Great bike, other than the shocks (for the value)

Favorite Trail:Tai Mo Shan
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Sing Kung Bike store
Strengths:This Rear Shock is a very nice and easy adjustable shock. It has good rebound and good soft and hardness. Also, this shock has nice travel. So far I have been doing 6 foot jumps and haven't even managed to make it blow. Regularly i do about 2 foot jumps for practice and ride down stairs without standing up and yet it absorbs the shakes well. I'm glad i didn't waste my money on something that blows that easily.
Weaknesses:As people hjave said before it is easy to blow and yet i have heard few people who used the same shock have any problems. Also, the softness of the shock going down is still too firm for mountain biking.... The rebound sometimes changes slightly and the lock doesn't work well. Also this rear shock takes lots of time to soften.
Similar Products Used:nothing close .... apart from Fox R
Bike Setup:Hasa X-1 Full XT and XT Deore set up.
Bottom Line:This shock is good but if your frame doesn't match it well then its a waste of money. The rebound has a very nice adjustable feature and lock out. ALthough the lockout mayb break down if u do larger jumps. Going down stairs with ur butt on the seat is aboslutely fine but it isn't a good idea. I just do it to soften it. It also has a good air pressure adjustment which helps the stiffness of the shock. The origional sporing isn't too good for any of the frames.. a different type of spring or weight of the spring would be more suitable.

Favorite Trail:down with tech jumps
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Sponsored mate
Strengths:Well everything so far...remote lock outs great.
Weaknesses:nothing but i spose i will have to wait for it to blow
Similar Products Used:Fox Vanilla
Bike Setup:Norco VPS, Marzocchi's, hayes
Bottom Line:I put an 800 fox spring on and preloaded it and its great the 650 dnm spring was too light....i do a fair bit or dirt jumping and raced with it and it still goin strong..the rebounds nice. Now im scared for the blowout!

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Angus Bike Chain
Strengths:Very Plush and Very adjustable
Weaknesses:The damn thing blew after 2 days moderate riding
Bike Setup:Coyote DH3, MX6, Hope Sport setup
Bottom Line:This would be a superb shock if DNM didnt stand for dynamite i.e. Blows Up. I would be fitting the replacement coyote send me Fox have ha d a fone call
I would recommend it for very light riders who dont go over anything bigger than a curb stone otherwise It may bend or blow!!

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:Don Skene Cycles (UK)
Strengths:Feels great, compression & rebound adjustment that actually works!
Weaknesses:how easily the shock blows
Similar Products Used:Noleen NR1, Rock Shox super delux - not good
Bike Setup:Coyote DH3, monster T, hopes etc.....
Bottom Line:I purchased the frame with shock brand new and within 1 hour it had blown, (without doing anything big). The guys at Don Skene cycles have said they will replace the shock, which is a bonus. Before the shock blew it felt brilliant, really plush and was a joy to ride on. Ill have to wait to see if the shock i got was a one-off and ill base my ratings on when the shock was fine!

Date Reviewed: June 14, 2001
Favorite Trail:Thredbo Ski Resort, Australia
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:DNM Australia
Strengths:Bomb proof. I'm a pro racer and l'v raced the same shock for almost two whole race sesions without any problems, no leaking, no noise, no compresion loss or air loss. l'm so happy not to have the hassels of rebuilding my rear shock after a couple of races. Now that l'v found DNM, l'll never buy another suspension brand.
Weaknesses:l can only fit DNM on two of my bikes, ow well!
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox Delux, Fox vanila RC.
Bike Setup:Downhill all the way. Orange Mr-O frame, with 9 inches of rear travel.
Bottom Line:DNM rear shocks (and forks)have never givern me an of the hassels l was experiancing with my privious shocks. For a racer this is not only a relif, it's a bloody big bonus. l'll never ride anything again unless it's DNM!

Strengths:Great plush rear shock, the lock out is an absolute god send
Weaknesses:if ur a heavy rider you may need upgrade the spring to somthing heavier and also i managed to blow it within a month......
Similar Products Used:shock works
Bike Setup:Club roost dh8, jr T's, XT
Bottom Line:When the shock works, its great but i am not impressed with getting a month of riding and it blowing, the rest of the bike is just starting to bed in

Strengths:Cheap Very Adjustable
Weaknesses:Long term durability. Everyone else I know has blown theres
Including one guy who cracked the main body and oil was leaking through the crack.

Favorite Trail:any of them
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Bikes R Us
Strengths:Incredible Shock, great adjustability, very plush, needed almost no break in, remote lockout, actually gives a much more confidence inspiring ride than either of the Rock Shox I tried, especially the SID
Weaknesses:None at all
Similar Products Used:Rock Shox SID
Bike Setup:Marzocchi Jr T's, DMR, Grimeca disk breaks, etc..etc..etc..
Bottom Line:Impossible to beat for any where near close to the money, and compares favorably to shocks costing 2X as much. Fully reccommended to anyone who needs a ultra-high quality shock with remote, handlebar mounted lockout.
