Favorite Trail:who cares?
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:clears stomach quickly, orange is tasty, cheap (container can be had for $15), decent supply of vitamins/aminos
Weaknesses:really haven't found any
Similar Products Used:cytomax
Bike Setup:does it matter?
Bottom Line:i was a HUGE user/fan of cytomax for some time (tangy orange). stopped for a good reason...please see my cytomax review if you care about your health. switched to this and have been happy. a must for endurance events. between this and vanilla hammer gel, long days are much easier.

Date Reviewed: February 23, 2000
Favorite Trail:Boyce Park
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Taste.
Similar Products Used:Gatorade, water, cytomax
Bike Setup:Gary Fisher X0
Bottom Line:I used the powdered version of this drink, the powder version has more protien. I use it on epic rides and also used it on the 150 mile MS150 in 1999 during the hotest weekend of the summer. Mixed in my 100oz camelback HAWG it gave me what I needed without giving me bloat. I drank a ton of the stuff. Because of the heat, everybody was dehydrating and water wasn't cutting it. The mix doesn't desolve completely, actually I think it's the protien powder. Didn't seem to have as much acid as gatorade which kills my digestive system.

Date Reviewed: August 11, 1999
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
This product has advertized so much hype it is insane.
Weaknesses:
It sucks, the taste was not great, it did not give me any extra boost late in my ride like my Cytomax Tangy Orange does, over all i would not buy it again.
Bottom Line:Buy Cytomax and don't waste your money on this drink. Try one of the single serving packets of the cytomax Tangy orange and one of the Power bar drink mix paskets and I am sure you will side with the Cyto!

Date Reviewed: August 4, 1999
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
they say it is a miracle drink
Weaknesses:
after taste!! oh my god
Similar Products Used:
cytomax
gatoraide
water
Bottom Line:I bought a couple bottles of the perform to give it a whirl after reading about it in all of the mags. I drank it first at home so there wouldn't be any surprises on the trail. My first flavor was the lemon lime ice, followed by the berry the next day on the trail. Both flavors are alright, but both suffer from a horrible aftertaste. I know it isn't meant to taste like kool-aide, but the aftertaste was so bad, I found myself not drinking because I dreaded the after taste. It doesn't matter how great the sports drink is if it stays in the camelback at the end of a ride. As for it's performance, it seemed about as good as cytomax, which is my normal drink in the heat of the summer.
