Favorite Trail:Mt Rainer
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $1.00
Purchased At:REI
Weaknesses:Product weakness is only that they are hard to find.
Similar Products Used:Protein Plus PowerBars, Cliff Bars
Bottom Line:Brown Rice syrup is far better than (HFCS) High Frutose Corn Syrups. I won my First box of Stoker Bars back in 1996 as a prize. I have been hooked on them ever since, they don't freeze or get hard in high eltatudes and I neve feel I need to drink water after eating one.

Duration Product Used:
2 Years
Strengths:
Best texture of any bar I have tried.
Best flavor of any bar I have tried.
Weaknesses:
None.
Similar Products Used:
Power Bar, Clif Bar, etc.
Bottom Line:The Stoker is absolutely the best energy bar I have tried. Hands down.
The texture, flavor, and energy supplied are A+.
It actually tastes good. Many other bars are just plain work to eat. The Stoker's rice base makes it nicely chewy. A big plus is the fact that even in cold weather it stays soft.
I am surprised this product doesn't have a bigger following. It really should.

Date Reviewed: August 21, 1998
Bottom Line:

These bars are great. The texture and the taste of the bars are,bar none(pardon the pun), the best on the market. They also are made with the better sugars for optimum performance. The only thing I do not like about the Stoker bar is the wrapper. It is easy to open, but the wrapper immediately tears into a small piece. What a bargain for $1.00 at REI if you buy 12 or more

Bottom Line:

I was extremely pleased with the cost and quality of your product. I plan to continue using it throught the future. No other power bar compares to BTU Stoker's lift and potency. Thanks for providing such a fantastic product!!! I recommend the bar to all my fellow runners for these reasons. FIVE STARS

Bottom Line:

I really like the fact that stoker does NOT use High Fructose Corn Syrup. (HFCS) Stoker uses Brown Rice Syrup which is much easyer to digest and takes less valuable water to digest. Not to mention NATURAL Fruit Juices. It is the BEST bar on the market!!

Bottom Line:

These are more tasty than the Powerbars I've tried although they are also more expensive. The flavour I have is the chocolate and I can tell you now that it's very, VERY chocolatey; rich, RICH chocolatey. Compared to Powerbars, the Stokers have more texture (grainy rice crispies, bit and pieces of this and that) and are less sticky. Thus, they are more appetizing to me out on the field. Energy-wise, they offer about the same amount of carbs and proteins as Powerbars and digestibility is also similar. Five stars for their good taste but one less star for the higher price.

Date Reviewed: August 5, 1996
Bottom Line:

While not bad in flavor, Stokers have a weird texture, and suffer from the same
eating difficulties as Powerbars. Cold weather enhances problems. Hot weather
causes bizzarre swelling and sticking to wrapper (scape it off with your teeth).

Bottom Line:

I just want to review this so that people know they taste pretty good. I don't think they get into your system as fast a power bar, but I thnk they taste better, and don't make you as thirsty.

Bottom Line:

Another energy bar. Easier to chew than PowerBars, don't need H20 to get them
down, they don't stick to your ribs, and they digest easily (unlike say, a
V02Max bar, which is an iron hard lump in your stomach 3 hours after eating
it). The oat flavor is my favorite, but I'd just try them all to see which
one you like. Semi-pricey, and you can't always find them everywhere.

Bottom Line:

These are the only bars that really really taste good. They're lighter than
the Clif bars (not so fibry and dry) and they taste much much better than
Powerbars. Unfortunately they're the most expensive of the three, and I can't
find them at discount prices anywhere. Four and a half stars!
