Shines pretty bright, lasts a good amount of time. night riding is a must, and no better way than with a helmet light. if u can get one cheap go for it, u wont regret it. handlebar light complements it well.

Bottom Line:
the light fits well on to the helmet and has a good spread on the beam,battery small enough to fit in hydro unit pocket. I still feel at $125.00 US dollars its a bit pricey for what they are, but hey if you want quality shut up and pay for it.

Strengths:
Great amount of light, easy switch, great mounting, smart charger. Excellent for technical trails and general riding. Plenty of light for riding on un-lit streets.
Weaknesses:
Battery is heavy. (But run time is 1.75 hrs at 15 watts.) Not quite enough light for very fast fire road.

Recommended. Usefull light, good run time, easy to use charger (plug in and forget.) Extend run time with lower wattage bulb. I'd buy it again.

Simply amazing, wow, and incredible is how I would rate the new BLT Terminator. My first ride just blew me away at how bright this puppy is.
A little history first. I have been mountain biking since 1988 and bought a Nitesun Endurance light set that same year. This was a 10 watt and 20 watt 12 volt 5.0 A/hr SLA set up which was the hot ticket back then. What impressed me was the beam angle, light output and burn time the Nitesun offered. What didn't impress me was the price and weight, the battery alone weighed over 4.5 lbs. I bought the helmet mount kit and mounted the lights, which were welded on to one plate, to the top of my helmet. This set up added over half a pound to my helmet which was not the greatest but offered 30 watts anywhere I wanted it.
I ride twice a week in the Victoria area with a bunch of guys with various light sets. There are NiteRider's, Nite Hawk's, VistaLite's, my old Nitesun's and some BLT's. In my opinion, beam angle and light output are paramount in off road riding at night. Many manufacturers have built some nice systems like MR-11 bulbs, composite construction and Ni-Mh battery packs. What they have missing is a usable beam angle.
About a month ago I took my BLT Terminator out on our ride. When it was time to turn on the lights I was dumbfounded at how much pure white light streamed out of this tiny light. All the other guys compared their lights with my Terminator and none could match it, they were all yellow with narrower beam angles. Some where downright pathetic in comparison. Even my beloved Nitesun's (which I had mounted on my handle bars) were in the shadows of the Terminator. The only exceptions were the guys with BLT Blitz lights which weren't as bright but had the same beam angle. What I couldn't believe was the white hot light combined with the best beam angle I've seen in such a small package. One guy who bought a very expensive VistaLight Ni-Mh set was embarrassed by the Terminator and cursed his lights.
I didn't manage to drain the battery as I was using the bar lights alone some of the time and both some of the time. Overall, the BLT Terminator is the best set up I've seen and should be a real winner for BLT.
Now, if you guys made a bar mount of this light with let's say a 9.0 A/hr Ni-Mh bottle battery, combined with the Terminator helmet light, you would own the night.

This lite is wicked works super, average 1.40hrs of bright white lite. I also bought a single bar beam 10watt flood. If you havent tried night riding its a blast Do yourself a favor and buy a BLT Blitz Helmet light. Best light for the price ... P.s. if you need more run time buy a 6volt 7amp hour battery for around 25cdn dollars and you should get around 2.5 hrs of light ...YEHAWWWWW
Gotta have 5 for both . This cannot be beat!

This is the perfect setup . You really dont need more then this at least i dont. The battery lasts 1hr 40 minutes (uses 6volt 5amphr battery) I purchased a 6v 7amp hr battery and now get over 2.5 hrs ....This light cannot be beat for the 129.00cdn i paid with tax... Nobody can touch this light and with the battery im unstopable

This is a well made durable system that can take the pounding of some good crashes without a wimper. the helmet attachment is versatile and rock solid and the beam is pretty clean. All in all a great system.

The story is this. I got into mountain biking about a year and a half ago. I bought my BLT helmet system and have been loving it ever since. The best part about BLT is my story. I moved to Bangkok, Thailand to set up an adventure/corporate team building/tour company in Thailand and had my Giro helmet stolen. I bought a new helmet, but need the clip that holds the battery cord down the back of your helmet to the battery. I got on the computer and emailed BLT. The very next day I had a message back saying the two clips were in the mail. These guys really understand customer service and Peter Stace-Smith is to be commended. These guys are kings at taking care of you. Buy one today and be taken care of.

This is a good little light. It gives you a good entry level pricepoint. It is versitile you can use it for hiking or crosscounty sking. You can aim light were you want to go. Good for finding side trails. Loves to be charged so you cant overcharge. Same idea as a car batt always charge it.
