Submitted by Jason a Weekend Warrior from Austin, TX
Date Reviewed: February 7, 2002
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Oshman's
Strengths:I've never fallen with my helmet on so I don't know how well it works. So to test this, I tried it on and banged my head against the wall in my room....not too hard...but enough to test the helmets strength....well I checked it out afterwards and IT BROKE. The damn helmet broke after just trying it on in my room!
Weaknesses:Customer support was horrible, they said they'd give me 20% discount on another helmet....like I'd buy another one of their crappy helmets...yeah right.
Similar Products Used:I'm gonna try out a Giro
Bike Setup:Scott Boulder '97
Bottom Line:Don't buy this helmet, it sucks.

Submitted by MachRacing a Cross Country Rider from San Francisco
Date Reviewed: December 22, 2000
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:Pacific Bicycles
Strengths:Decent price and style at the time. Removable visor. Head retention system.
Weaknesses:Sits too high. Not too light. Not enough air flow on those hot days.
Similar Products Used:Giro something...
Bike Setup:Kona Muni Mula XT/LX Marzocchi Z4 etc...
Bottom Line:Sucks for $40 considering whats out there now. Pacific Bicycles is a lousy shop to buy it from in my opinion. Great deals, lousy workers. Went to the one on 6th and Geary Blvd. Hit the good old Start To Finish or other and you will get a much friendleir bunch. Not too sure where Specialized is headed with helmets.

Submitted by Isaac a Cross Country Rider from Fargo
Date Reviewed: April 5, 2000
Favorite Trail:Meadowbrook Wildlife Managment Area
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:The price is the best part of this helmet.
Weaknesses:The pads don't give you much padding because of their thickness.
Similar Products Used:Air banshee
Bike Setup:98 Schwinn Moab that's been ridden and rebuilt for two years.
Bottom Line:This is a good helmet for someone getting into the sport or needs a bucket to race. It's nothing fancy and doesn't look biker-cool but it saved my life from a "Isaac vs. truck" accident and I've held on to it to remeber that.

Submitted by Giordana a Racer from Texas
Date Reviewed: December 20, 1999
Favorite Trail:
the road
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
looks, fit, price
Weaknesses:
none so far
Similar Products Used:
Bell helmets
Bike Setup:
Bianchi Eros road bike; Mutt rigid mountain bike that climbs like a goat and is as tough as nails
Bottom Line:I like this helmet; It's a big improvement over the Bell dinosaur I had before this. This one looks nice; the Bell I had made my head look kind of like a...well...to be honest, a p3nis. When you're a girl, that's not too cool.I've worn it for 6 months in unpredictable Texas weather and I like it just fine.

Submitted by Brandon Pierce a Cross-Country Rider from Annandale
Date Reviewed: November 20, 1999
Duration Product Used:
1 Year
Strengths:
Light; warm in cool weather
Weaknesses:
Fit; not enough air flow
Similar Products Used:
Bell Image Pro, Trek, Vetta
Bike Setup:
hardtail
Bottom Line:Paid only $20 for it. Can't go wrong for the price. It looks OK but if you have more money definitely get something better.
Overall Rating:3
