Strengths: It works well in a crash. I did a bad landing on a jump this week. Did an endo. I broke some small bones in my hand, bruised my ribs, and my neck suffered whipash from the head impact. The helmet shell cracked through, as well as the hard liner in several places. Visor blew off as designed. I sustained no head injury.Weaknesses: It is an older model with the AccuLoc. Fit could be improved. During the impact, the helmet did tilt slightly to the right, tearing the top of my ear. It is hot. Can I say that again? It is hot. Needs better ventilation.Bottom Line: I'm buying a better Giro under their crash replacement program which gives a 30% discount, one with a RocLoc and better ventilation. Giro is a great company and believes in protecting the consumer and listens to their feedback.

Strengths: great fit and comfortable, cools your melon well.Weaknesses: pads wear out too quickly, the lining of the brow pad of my helmet separated from the foam after the 1st washing, hope they improve on this..and maybe they could kinda make the pads a little thicker.Bottom Line: good helmet for the price...would be better if they improved on the pads a bit

Strengths: It is a helmet. Very comforatableWeaknesses: Pads fall apart very quickly. After first handwashing will start. If you don't wash, may last a month. Name sounds like "gero" which means "puke" in Japanese.Bottom Line: Comfortable. Fits wells. Crappy sweat pads stopped me from being a repeat GIRO customer. Has more foam than holes so will probably protect better. (see some of the helmet studies on the internut. WOuld give an addy, but don't remember them.)
Sorry, did not save my life as I did not crash and land on my head, split the helmet and wal away w/o as much as a concusssion like most guys seem to have done.

Strengths: Cool carbon fiber look, fits well just as all Giro helmets do.Weaknesses: It's hot. Not enough vents.Bottom Line: With Giro you get what you pay for. All of their helmets meet ANSI certification, but the ability to cool your head drives the price up. Don't be sold on the Roc Loc system--I think all Giro helmets fit well.

Strengths: cool design and colors. reasonably light weight and cheap.Weaknesses: gets really hot if you ride for a whileBottom Line: this is a good value helmet. i use it for mountain biking and it offers decent protection. it has been thrown over my friends roof and came away undamaged execpt for a cracked piece that holds the visor on. the only complaints that i have about this helmet are that it needs more vents. it is the perfect helmet if you are a budget mountian biker.

they have the same safety standards as the more expensive helmets .
they look better than the walmart helmets priced the same.

Strengths: Looks cool, fits greatWeaknesses: none yetBottom Line: Bought two of these at Sun & Ski's tent sale for 28 bucks apiece..couldn't pass that up (2000 models). Look cool and fit great. I didn't really need another helmet...I still have my cheapie from Target (which saved me from getting a concussion), but could not pass up such a great deal. The carbon fiber look is badass, too.

Strengths: Roc loc 2 , color ,fitWeaknesses: velcro that holds the sraps detaches, you need to do a better job gluing it.Bottom Line: compared to the gila, the torrero is about the same except the gila cost 30-40$ more.
now the exodus is a different story . you can see the difference in quality of the exodus from the torrero and the gila.
im just a weekend warrior , all helmets meet a safety standard so i went with the buck saver this time.
i give it a 5 for value and a 4 for overall as the velcros could be secured better and the quility of build could be better, but for 29 bucks , i cant complain.
