Strengths:    Very light and comfortable, the padding rarely comes off and lasts forever. The visor is great not only for the sun, but it also does a great job at keeping the rain from hitting your eyes.

Weaknesses:    Umm.....

Bottom Line:
This is a great helmet for a great value. The padding lasts forever and rarely comes off. Great for all kinds of riding!

Date Reviewed: April 8, 2003

Strengths:    It is a helmet and has more foam than holes.

Weaknesses:    Fit is not so good for me. Not as comfortable as Giro

Bottom Line:
Well, I was riding down the road and was hit by a freight train and killed. Seems I did not read the warnings and continued to use this after a crash because it looked ok. The foam had been crushed and it lost its ability to asorb impact. Of course, it wouldn't have helped with the train anyway.
USed for years, it is ok. It is a bike helmet. pads are better than Giro junk which falls apart quickly. A bear to adjust. The fact that it is not as aerodynamic as others cost me the Tour De France 2 years in a row.

Strengths:    Wont break easily, I had several bad crashes.....it's still fine

Weaknesses:    Not enough working air vents, your head gets hot after a while.
Visor gets in way

Bottom Line:
this helmet will protect you if you stack, but you will have a very hot head by the end of a long ride

Strengths:    1.price
2.tough built

Weaknesses:    1.ventilation is not adequate
2.visor interferes with your sight

Bottom Line:
considering that the only way to get some air flowing through the vents is to bend your head down and then not being able to see anything because of the visor it's aiiiiight. Although i have to admit that i've used it for quite a while and it took a lot of abuse and still is in working shape

Strengths:    still wearable after 3 years

Weaknesses:    Really weak shell, dosent look good, hot, not quite stylin

Bottom Line:
This helmet can take a lot of punishment, i hit a tree head first on a downhill and the helmet didn't crack (my neck still hurt pretty bad though). The outer shell is weak though and will become brittle in the cold and soft in the heat. Its a good helment for recreational riders or downhillers who don't want full face helmet.

Weaknesses:    Looks big on my head
My head gets hot after an hour of riding

Bottom Line:
This helmet has saved my life. I was riding on a slight downhill trail that was unfamilar and caught some air off a mound. The trail makes a sharp right about 15 feet after the mound. In mid-air I paniced and put on my brakes. When I hit the ground I was sent flying head first into a bed of rocks.
The side of my helmet (near the temple) hit a good size rock. After regaining my sight 5 minutes later, I thanked God that I had that helmet on. My helmet has about a half-dollar size dent on the side of it. Aside from looking big on my head and it getting a little to hot, I have to give it 5 flamers. It server its purpose, it kept my big head from being cracked open.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:
Bad ventilatioin-especially on long rides
straps

Bottom Line:
This was an ok helet for me. I'm 15 and this was my first mountain bike helmet, but since i,ve crashed on it 4 times (last one my head hit a tree at about 20mph). It can survive a crash and work again, but it doesn't deliver the ventilation and comfort of my new Evo2 which was only 50 bucks!

Date Reviewed: June 30, 1999

Bottom Line:
Good price serves the purpose of a helmet. My big complaint is it gets a little toasty here in TX. I end up using part of my water just to keep my head cool and that's a waste of water. Especally in hot summer days around here. But hey it serves the purpose and saved my butt once when I flipped over the handle bars down a really steep hill.

Maybe a couple larger vents- no big deal

Bottom Line:
Great Helmet. I own the Oasis Pro- '98 model of this one. Cannot beat the price. Wish mine came with a visor. No big deal tough. Thats what my shades are for. Great helmet, fit, price, look, function.

Strengths:
Saves your head from being destroyed

Weaknesses:
The velcro holding the back brace always comes off.
The visor is terrible.
Inside padding is pretty useless

Bottom Line:
I really dont like this helmet too much. I bought it because of the price, but for something you have to wear all day it is worth going out and spending a few extra bucks.

Inexpensive helmet that provides good protection. I have had it protect my head from overhanging branches several times!

Weaknesses:
Not enough ventilation. Also mine is black-which abosrbs more heat.

Bottom Line:
Ok choice for a first time helmet or if you are on a limited budget.
