Submitted by Eric a Weekend Warrior from Columbia, MD, USA
Date Reviewed: April 11, 2001
Favorite Trail:Avalon
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $135.00
Purchased At:Direct from FSA
Strengths:Feels very stiff, shifts great, looks great, and price is very reasonable.
Weaknesses:None, so far.
Similar Products Used:Coda 2x9 crankset
Bike Setup:Cannondale CAD 3 frame, mostly XTR components,
Mavic crossmax wheels, Easton monkey-lite bar
Bottom Line:The original Cannondale 2x9 (29/44) crankset was showing lots of wear and was not shifting well after two years of hard use. Replaced it with the FSA V-Drive ISIS splined compact crankset (22/32/44) and bottom bracket combination. The CNC machined chainrings are ramped and pinned. They look great and shift very smoothly, even under load. If they hold up, I will be very pleased with this set-up. I will post an update in about 6 months.
