Strengths:    light weight, easy to maintain.

Weaknesses:    It tends to get loose after several rides for the first 3 month or so.

    Bottom Line:
Great product. However it takes a while and tranning to get use to 2x9. And in the maintenance thing all bikes from time to time requier regular check ups. Check all of it including the cranck set.

    Strengths:    shifts ok

    Weaknesses:    needs constant tightening

    Bottom Line:
I replaced my EX2 with a shimano XT triple. I also have a Cannondale EX3 on my Jekyll. Once you get them to stay tight they're ok but it takes 6 to 8 rides & retightening after each ride to get them to finally stay tight.

Strengths:    Well since it is CODA - none. ALL their products, and I've tried many on my Cannondales, are complete junk. If you see a product with the CODA name on it - replace it ASAP.

Weaknesses:    If you race or ride seriously, do yourself a favor and avoid ANY Coda products. I don't have enough room to list specifics, but their components are garbage.

    Bottom Line:
Cannondale makes great bikes, but totally cheapens them with Coda stuff. If you are interested in their bikes you may want to look closely at the parts first. Coda has cost me many races and will let you down too.

    Strengths:    light

Weaknesses:    2 pinions are too little! It is impossible to ride your bike soundly. Riding on single trails, you always have to shift between the 2 pinions.

    Bottom Line:
seems that CODA underlines it bad reputation in every way!

Strengths:    Very easy to remove.....just use like you would normally use a crankpiece....and voila...it falls off....!!!

    Weaknesses:    IT FALLS OFF !!!

    Bottom Line:
This is just about he worst crankset I have ever tried. It fell off on the first ride. Cannondale will not replace it (they blame it on the dealer who according to Cannondale did not tighten it enough. Odd....every single EX2 Crankset I have heard of has fallen off shortly. )

Strengths:    None. Not a single one.

Weaknesses:    It is Coda, which is synonomous with biking garbage.

    Bottom Line:
This is typical of what I have found of every component that has Coda written on it-it is a total piece of crap. This expensive paperweight came on my Cannondale, and has caused me nothing but grief. First week with the new bike, passive arm falls off. Literally just fell off. Shop replaced the whole crankset with another piece of Coda crap, three weeks later, the same thing happens. Replaced again, three weeks after that the large chainring jumps ship. Threatened litigation, got a free Shimano courtesy of Cannondale. EVERYTHING CODA MAKES IS GARBAGE--DO NOT EVER TRUST IT, YOU WILL HAVE TO WALK BACK TO YOUR CAR.

Strengths:    Light, low Q-factor, light, low Q-factor.....
    Stiff and cool look

Weaknesses:    2x9 takes a while to get used to

    Bottom Line:
If you train alot on a road bike and find that your feet are way to far apart on your MTB then this is THE crank. Light and durable for XC-racing. Lighter than XTR with a better q-factor, need I say more?

    Strengths:    Weight and versatility.

Weaknesses:    Propriatary parts and cosmetic wear if anyone cares

    Bottom Line:
Small adjustment to the 2x9. I had been riding 3x8 for some time, and the ratios took a little tinkering. After a couple of rides on familiar steeps everything began to click. I purchased the spyder to add the granny gear, but never put it on the bike. If you use non-coda rings you will need a .5 spacer for the smaller ring. I have not broken a crank or experienced any other clanking, loosening or other flaws noted by other reviewers. I do all my own maint., and all my own damage to eq. No complaints.

If the crank comes on a bike, cudo's a great crank. I do not know if I would purchase one off the shelf with so many other great products, but "I think" it is an excellent factory part. I gave 5 F/C for value because the price was right on the bike, and 5 F/C for overall because I really like the crank.
