Favorite Trail:Case Mountain
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1199.00
Purchased At:kinleybikes.com
Strengths:Great components and frame for the price. Easy to set up out of the box. Very solid built. Fun to ride on technical trails. Customer service (Benno) great to deal with.
Weaknesses:No major weaknesses. With the bike came with clipless pedals and a quick release for the seat, but other then these two minor things, the bike came with some hi-end components for a great price.
Similar Products Used:Cannondale Jekyll and Rush, GT.
Bike Setup:XT Derailleurs (front and back) LX crank, Manitou Black (front) and Rock Shox (rear) shoks. Hayes-9 hydraullic brakes and more.
Bottom Line:I did a lot of research on this and other bikes before making this purchase. Not many companies came close to offering comparable components on their bikes for the same price. Benno, the owner was great to deal with. I ordered a wrong size bike. Contacted the Benno who canceled the shipment and quickly turned around a bike that properly fit me. Bike was easy to assemble, although required some minor turning to the derailleurs and disk brakes. Assembly instructions are on this independent web site: www.mountainbiketales.com/articles/kinleybuild.htm . Once assembled the bike worked great. Take it on some very technical terrain and it handles it very well. Frame is solid and warrantied for 5 years.

In summary: The bike is a steal at Kinley's price. It's solid, looks good and rides very well. I highly recommend it.

Date Reviewed: June 3, 2006
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1400.00
Purchased At:Online direct from Kinley
Strengths:Great components - well integrated bike. Very competitive price point vs. competition (strong CAN dollar is also nice!). Benno at Kinley was very helpful. Online comparison and purchase was great.
Weaknesses:Shipping was a pain (Fedex's fault not Kinleys). Needed some adjustment after shipping (ie. brake caliper alignment) that was straightforward.
Bottom Line:A great bike at a great price. The online purchase was great and the bike is a huge value if you compare components to the competition. Set-up was easy. Benno at Kinley was very helpful through the entire process. Shipping across the border was a pain through Fedex but once the bike got here I was very happy with it.
